The green foam stuff is used to make thick cushions - so anything from a stool seat to sofa seats. I use it alot to make cushions for my kitchen chairs (17x17 size). Everyone in Japan is going to copy that bag now....!
Many Americans have big cars, so they can fit the large size roll of batting in their car. The folded quilt batting will fit in small cars, so maybe that is why you haven't seen the big rolls in Japan. I buy the big roll because then I do not have to go back to the store very often. (Big cars use more gasoline)
Not all. We have many specialty stores with much nicer things than shown in the video. It just depends on where you shop. Specialty shops have much nicer quality than the store (JoAnnes) shown in the video. I almost never shop at JoAnnes (I am from California, about 3 hours from LA).

Machiko -san: The giant rolls of batting are used on longarm quilting machines. Depending on the project being made determines the type of batting. All cotton for tortilla warmers, bowl cozies, potato cookers. Quilters in the US support many causes: homeless shelters, children in foster care, natural disasters, first responders, Quilts of Valor, Project Linus. Each organization has preferred sizes for the donated items and preferred materials.
Hallo aus OLD GERMANY.

There are many much nicer quilt, and yarn stores in the United States than JoAnnes that have much nicer quality items. I am sad to think your viewers have no idea how much nicer our other stores are. Much better quality than JoAnnes. Local quilt stores, and yarn shops (not chain stores) have much nicer things to look at and buy.

There are certainly nicer craft stores in America than the ones I introduced. But they are not easy to find. I have yet to find a store with quality that beats those in Japan... Even if there is a store, driving a car is essential in America. So this time, I chose the most familiar craft stores in America, representative stores that anyone can find and go to easily. The theme of this time is simply to look for things that are not sold in Japanese craft stores.

@@hariyamanomachiko There are many, but if not from the area I can see how they would be hard to find.
