Did anyone else notice the chessboard at 1.55 was set up incorrectly? The top left square should always be white - does my head in, when I see it incorrectly laid out. Anyway - looks like a great cruise - I could suffer the chess, with the rooms you got.

I live in SoFla and me and my wife cruise the Caribbean about every 6 weeks. Normally getting games going with vacationers is hit or miss but the 2/5 200/500 start then match format is at least something on the table. The drawback is the rake! It’s a full 10% up to $15. Outrageous!!! High seas robbery, for poker they are all pirate ships.

I've always wanted to take a poker cruise, but as I understand it the rake on a cruise is basically insurmountable in the long run. Ship casinos also appear to typically be in the middle of the boat with no windows looking out over the sea. So, the experience is basically similar to playing in a casino on land, only with an outrageous rake. If anyone knows of a ship or line where this isn't the case I would be grateful for the heads up!

I think it was $1 for a $10 pot then $5 at $50 and capped at $10 if the pot was $100+. That's what I remember.

At least you got to play cruise ship poker, Andrew, The cruises I have been on either had digital poker (Princess) that I couldn't get a seat or a group for, while the live poker on Celebrity Cruises required you to be on schedule or with a party (and my own party also had me footing the expenses for land excursions, so that meant I didn't have the bankroll either). Add a "good behavior clause" to the cruise and that meant no gambling allowed :(
