The only lube I’ve ever tried is 50 k and I love it. It is all you need. Start with one drop and from there you can keep adding small amounts to get your cube where you like it

I like to use 30K on the core and a mixture of 30K, DNM-37, and Speedy on the pieces. This lubing method makes your cube quite fast after a bit of break-in and is very smooth.

Here's my opinion: I've used four lubes: Traxxas 30k, DNM-37, Lubicle Silk, and Martian. Traxxas is very good for the core, but I normally use it for the pieces. If used correctly, it can give a very smooth feel and potentially make your cube even faster, but if you put too much of it in your cube, it gums it up and makes it really sluggish, so don't be too generous with it. DNM is awesome; I ran out in a matter of months due to me using it so often. Just 1 drop makes your cube a lot faster, which I personally enjoy, and DNM lasts a while, too. In my experiences DNM has typically lasted me around two weeks. Silk is pretty similar to DNM as it also speeds up your cube. It also makes it feel a lot smoother, and I'd normally use it if my cube feels a bit dry. Martian is apparently one of SCS's fastest lubes, but it honestly doesn't do too much. It's slower than both DNM and Silk, but Martian still does make your cube a bit faster. You need to put in about 3-4 drops of Martian in order for it to compare to just 1 drop of DNM-37. If you don't really like super fast cubes but still don't want anything super sluggish, Martian works for that.

DNM-37 is water-based while Martian is silicone based and I think is less than weight 0.1 so that it lasts long as silicone-based lubes lasts longer than water-based lubes. Martian use to be the fastest out of the Cosmic Lubes line but then just made an even faster one recently which is called Lunar.

I just wanted to say THANKS. I started ROUXbing 14 months ago at the age of 50 and a lot of this stuff is new to me. My cubes were dry as hell! I sought advice from the young cubing masters of YT and found you...again. I studied this video and tried to understand the concept...watched a few other videos...found a local hobby shop that had some lubes matching your descriptions. I played it smart by disassembling, cleaning, mostly reassembling and VERY lightly lubing (a drop) on a few very specific internal areas. Broke the cube in...wiping off any excess...the first cube was the worst since it was...my trial and error cube. Once again...THANKS. I now have two really nice cubes and my times are dropping. 3 New PB singles standing at 31.19 - almost sub-30; that's my next goal. All of my averages are dropping, too. I can't give all of the credit to the lube but it does help, big time!

From what I have been able to learn, there aren't anywhere as many algorithms to learn with ROUX if you want to really drop your times. I don't expect to ever compete with the young guys/kids but the simple thought of continuously improving my times and maybe competing (once) keeps me going. I met one of my goals..Sub-30. Time to set some new ones.

I've used weight 3, weight 5, Maru Lube and Silk to lube my cubes. Usually I use weight 5 on cores or if I want to slow cubes down, I use a mix of weight 3, maru lube, and silk on the pieces. Usually I put weight 3 on the corner base/bottom of the pieces, maru lube where there is the most contact, break it in for a bit, then after a few solves add a drop or 2 of silk. Sometimes I skip out on one of the 3 lubes for pieces if I like how it feels after putting each lube, but usually I use a mix of them.

I only use 2 lubes, DNM and silk, but that's enough for me. If a cube is feeling dry or slow, I put 1-2 drops of silk, and then if I want it to be faster, I add 1-2 drops of DNM and this creates a nice, smooth and semi-fast cube which I really like.

When I get a new cube, I immediately wipe the pieces and drop in two drops of Lubicle-1. It fills in the cracks of your puzzle and makes the break in process before you lube it all out much easier. Break in with 50-100 solves so the Teflon can fill in the cracks. Then I do Lubicle Black on the core and a touch of Weight 5 on the pieces. Break that in, and add Silk or DNM-37.

My main is a Gan SM with Gravitas on the tracks and dignitas on the pieces. I use yellow nuts with Lubicle Black and Weight 5 on the core. Some of the Lubicle Black gets on the pieces, so the cube is very controlable, but smooth. It's just perfect for me.

My local RC shop didn't have Traxxas so I use TLR differential lube, 50000 and 15000. The lighter one is great for a cube you don't use much so you don't want to spend ages breaking it in. For a quick lube job I just put a couple of drops of 50000 between the pieces, if I want to do it properly I use a bunch of 50000 on the core and tracks plus some 15000 between the pieces - this particular approach has made my NP Zhanchi feel almost like OP which delights me :)

The premium lube sampler from the cubicle is a great start! for 10 bucks you get silk, lubicle 1 and dnm, and i think you get about 60 drops of each which is plenty to start with.

The only 2 lubes I use are calvin high viscosity/Lubicle wt 5/any thick silicone (can't differentiate them) in most of my cubes, and silk which I use ocassionally and quite rarely. Works fine on 6x6 and 7x7, just need to break it in. My 6x6-8x8 are all set up with thick lube and they work totally fine.

A little secret only a few cubers in the cubing society know.Maru lube has been 'exposed,that it evaaporates after 1 day ,leaving a black sticky substance.Actually that is true.But that black substance is silicone which speeds up the cubes.So maru lube actually does not dry up in a day.it is a great lube.lets say you is at a competition.maru lube can lube your cube in a pinch .thanks for reading pls share dis😀

i like lubicle one because you can apply it differently for different feelings putting a bunch on a track will make the cube really smooth and medium speed just dropping it inside will adjust the cubes speed to make it medium from any speed i do also like silk, 10k and dnm

i personny use silk on the tacks uf the pieces and silk+DNM on the outer layers . i would personally not recommend using dnm37 or any other water base lube it will just dry out very rapidly and make you cube slower

I don't have a favorite lube, but I use DNM, Speedy, and Lubicle 1. I put 3 drops of Lubicle 1 on a corner stalk with 1 drop of DNM. On the opposite corner diagonally of it I do 2 drops of Speedy, giving my cube a great feel.

I buy Traxxas 10k 30k 50k 3pk for ~$20. I'm not a speedcuber and kinda more for the "meditation" aspect of it (think Wushu as speedcubing, while I would be Tai Chi). I only buy MOYU AOFU GTs and I just buy lube so I don't hit snags and to hopefully prevent lockups. I usually tighten the centers so there's not much cause for movement. Because of this, there's not much space for the cube to correct itself and it becomes stuck or even worse a center piece will break and the cube crumbles. Nobody so far has told me how to unlock the "dislocated" cubee without having to take it apart. I was thinking maybe to remove the center screw on the cubes face where the out of whack cubee is located. I was also wondering what happens physically to silicone oil as time and cube use goes on (when lube "drys" up).

lub1cle isn't water based, and it has teflon. put it first before any lube, and it'll smooth out your cube while also making it fast

I use 50k and even a tube of 100k to enhance the feel/drag. When my cube turns too fast, I will wash my cube (stickerless) with dish soap and rinse it while doing the checkerboard pattern under warm/hot water. then I just pat as much water out of it against my jeans. This happens when I bring a cube to the movies so I dont have to watch the pre-roll ads.
