Maybe but this was the first song that the beatles played together when ringo first joined. Paul George and john was looking at each other in shock that ringo played it well than all other drummers they played with

According to Paul McCartney when he spoke at Ringo's induction to the R&R HOF, this is the first song Ringo played with the other Beatles.

Exactly. Famously, one if the reasons John and Paul invited Ringo to join the band was because he could play this drum part ...

I got to play it with a fifty's band. You helped me so much to get the structure of the tune. All is OK. Hopefully for me, we play it at 160bpm. I'll get it faster soon but it's quite difficult to be in the pocket along the whole tune when you play it at 174. Thank you very much !

The Grade 7 book describes it as "Soul, with a rhumba feel". The Beatles song (which was apparently inspired by this song) is "I Feel Fine".

The book makes the point that further study of "latin" styles will help with mastering this type of groove.

Hi Lorraine, started when I was 13 (I'm now 39). I actually played this song for the first time as such only 2 or 3 years ago on gigs, but it's a timeless drum beat/feel which I've played quite a bit over the years! Thank you for watching :)

I am a drummer too , but I have little experience. I was listening this song a few minutes ago and I was empressed by the beat . So I looked for the Drum part and I tell this to you with all my respect: you were amazing. I haven't completed the grade 6 anyway.
@MikeBarnesDrums
@MikeBarnesDrums 3 жыл бұрын
@@joelkessie6258 Cool, makes sense! This is at Grade 7 level (there are 8 grades total). So on average a drummer would have been practicing consistently for several years before realistically expecting to play this accurately and smoothly I'd say. Go for it man, my best advice is start at the beginning and build up your skills level-by-level. Plus I actually found this song very challenging for this level! Cheers :)
