Good points - I especially liked the take on the scarcity mindset vs abundance mindset. I think Dave's PR also has to wrangle with that - generally, Dave has a lot of teachings that align with the abundance mindset, but they still have to frame budgeting as "empowering" rather than controlling. Telling your money where to go. Think being scrupulous versus penny pinching. For me I found that a 15 year mortgage would require us renting for a few more years to get a reasonable house with an affordable payment. Listening to other sources, I've found that if you are not otherwise irresponsible, a 30 year mortgage is not going to put you into the poor house. Dave's teachings are great, and they should not be discounted simply because they are hard or "out of touch", but they should be viewed as one source of good info among many.
