What did Early Christians Believe About the Mass? - The Catholic Mass - Episode 10

Last episode explored the development of the liturgy in terms of rites, that is, how it was practiced, what the rubrics looked like, and where early Christians gathered for worship. In this episode, explore the same topic further, but from a theological perspective. What did early Christians, the Apostles, and the Church Fathers believe about the Mass? We look at the writings of St. Paul, the Acts of the Apostles, and two of the early Church Fathers from the 2nd century, to discover how they understood the Eucharist and whether there was a continuous belief that the Sacrifice of the Cross and the Mass are one and the same.

Using the large host in the Novus Ordo was a bad idea. When the priest breaks it into smaller pieces it makes many loose particles, and when it's received in the hand, particles can remain on the recipient's hand and drop to the floor.

Calling it only symbol is not something all Protestants do, you should engage with the Lutherans and the Anglicans which have a much higher view. I would be very interested in seeing that.

In Leviticus 23 : 36-39 and also in Numbers 29 : 35 , the Old Testament clearly prophesied the 8th Day being the most solemn and a day of rest for those who followed Christ being the New Creation.
