Are the cups used for water or simply decorative? This is a beautiful project, thank you for sharing your talent.

The cups are for birdfeed. If you put duct tape inside the teapot to cover the spout you can put feed in the teapot as well. This project is best used on a covered porch. Have a wonderful day. Merry Christmas! :)

This is mainly used for a feeder on a porch. But you can put a disk of wood with a small hole drilled through for small birds.

Hello Diane! I start out with a 6ft-10ft 1 x 6. The back is 16 inches. The base is a 7 x 7 cut. The tops are 7 x 8 and 7 x 7 :) Very sorry to may not have mentioned this. I was somewhat new to making videos :) Have a most wonderful crafting day!

LOL :) They actually do. New owners will often put a disk of wood with the appropriate hole cut for smaller birds. Mostly though, they are used for decorative feeders for front porches or deco in a kitchen or dining room where owners keep their teacups. I have been making them for 11 years now.
