I’d rather have a mint on card toy than a toy which the corner is bent and the package is crushed…

I would always choose vintage over a reissue. Not at that price but that items was on store shelves when you were swept up in Tmnt power magic. The reissues, cheaply pumped out money grab with off faded colors, and overly large heads. Regarding grading, well worth it if you’re looking to preserve something that’s in top top mint condition. I don’t Nader stand why anyone would grade something that comes back as an 80 or below and still expect to sell it for a hefty price tag. An 85- 90 on something 30 -40 + years? that’s a rarity!

I can get behind putting valuable stuff in cases to protect them. But paying a company to certify that it's legit is absolutely a scam. In many cases you can't even see/access the product itself, so really it's just one big Schrodinger's cat experiment which you are paying for. No way is that worth a price hike.

Grading is 💯 a scam. I'm a modern baseball card collector and know all about Grading being a scam. I super collect a common in value terms player. And Funko Pops are cool for everyone who enjoys them. I still haven't seen one I would buy.

No one should care about grading, grading is just some else’s opinion and a way to hype prices, how can a toy that sold for 5.99 20 or 30 years ago can be value almost at 200 dollars

Supply and demand, how can a house cost $millions when it was originally sold for $60,000?

what can I say about gradings? well in the videogame sector with VGA and WATA, it disgusts me some people only look for the highes grading and pay absurd prices like 1500$ for a PS4 with a rare sticker yes $1500 for a sticker. but if you only limit gradings to special pieces in your collection to maintain the condition, for example fom me? beast wars tranmetal megatron a unfortunate GPS victim to make sure that this poor bastad stays in one piece as long as possible and it looks nice in this protectcase on the shelf. otherwise, there are many cheaper protection cases out tehr that fulfill their purpose without any gradings.

I am not interested in graded stuff. It adds zero value to me. I agree with you that grading feels like a scam. It feels like an artificial way to inflate the price of something, and the grading process isn't always the most clear/transparent about how they arrive at the grade. It is like a, "just trust me bro" concept to me. I always think about mint on card collectors and the bubble detaching from the card or discoloring years after it is purchased. That takes away the value they had in it? Now imagine that happens to your even more expensive graded item. Worth it? I'm not that kind of collector so I have no clue how that thought process works. I prefer loose figure collecting, and collecting what I like. If you have to think too hard about an item, I think you know the answer of is it worth it. You would spend that $200 or more, take the figure home, put it on a shelf and maybe look at it twice a month. Worth? Might be for some people, but not for me. The last turtle I picked up was a bootleg Krang with his walker. The next turtles I would like to get are the original Playmates Creature From The Black Lagoon Leonardo, Playmates The Mutant Raphael, both 5" & 11" Playmates Krang Android Body, and then maybe start on the Muta Force turtles. That diorama looked great. Didn't seem like the pieces had to be treated super fragile either which is a big plus if so. Always appreciate something that can actually be played with. The Sega was really cool to see too. You had some good pickups. I really liked that turtle art piece you picked out for all the reasons you mentioned. Congrats on that script, that is a really unique item for the collection, great piece. The Pops..... no comment 😁j/k Pops are easy to dislike, but they make so damn many of course there are bound to be some enticing ones! As long as you're getting something because you enjoy it, not because you want/need it's value to 10x to the moon! I don't think you can go wrong. This was all abit of a ramble, better wrap it up. Thanks for the video, and your others, enjoyed it. Think TF owes you a few more discounts! 😄

100 % grading is a scam. In all hobbies. If u need someone to tell what your eyes can see just give up now cause life is way harder.

Well.. what about the people that think they have a higher grade due to sentimental value.. kinda like the people that try out for singing competitions.. they think they really can but that can’t sing for shi.. sometimes it’s better to have someone else look at it. But I also agree to a degree with you. It’s hard to say.
