Hard lines John, that looked like a really decent Huss as well. But as you say mate that's why it's called fishing and not always catching. Amazing herring and mackeral shoals kicking about even into November. Makes you wonder if there's to much feed at times down there? take care matey and tight lines, you'll be rewarded very soon with a biggie I'm sure.

You need to bin the braid John & go back to mono! There is no give in braid so is much easier to pull the hook!

Keep changing baits every 5 mins, move to another spot or fish a bait night in the water

Incredible amount of mackerel 🙈lm from Essex no such phenomenons here, bad luck with that fish, hurts to the bone 🙄John clip those baits down simply done, aids presentation and distance👍

You're not letting the fish take the hook properly and the fish are only hanging on to the bait and when they feel that they're not winning with it they let go but you also need to use a mackerel flapper and not a whole mackerel

Don’t know why you use whole baits for huss. They are notorious for not taking baits correctly, mouthing baits.

Didn’t know that buddy cheers for the info…. I’ve only ever fished for the Huss on a full mackerel and must’ve caught 20 doubles that way so I’ve always stuck to it….. All the best - John
