That's a solid explanation. I always liked to think since he said "whoever has not sinned, cast the first stone" and Jesus was writing down the sins of each accuser.

I believe it was a single line.... Jesus is the light that they cannot see in themselves.... he has spoken truth yet they not know. So with a single line that seperates him from them, they see only thier own name (authority) without a leg to stand on in the darkness of their own heart... one by one as the elder leads, rest follow behind him with their tails between their legs dragging behind thier lost master with only a stick in his hand to keep him from falling any further 😊

@@scented-leafpelargonium3366 I thought so too! But I thought why would this been so “out there” that it would be a miraculous sign! - recorded for us! That’s what’s been baffling me! Because I researched and realised that Temple Mount was paved! Unfortunately there are no good images/renderings of the whole temple inside, floors, paved not paved! - it’s shocking in this day and age - we don’t have this on the web! So I’m none the wiser! It’s either of those two options - what you say or what he explained! The only reason I believe he maybe right is that actually this scene happened outside the temple courtyard! Not inside…! Because the former would be a major miraculous sign…!

What a great expository. Something that caught my attention while studying this also is that God is only mentioned 3 times in the entire Bible to have written, The first were the commandments on stone tablets, the second was on the wall which was likely brick or stone , the third wad said to be in the dirt. The thing that was immediately apparent to me were the medium on which they were written God wrote with his finger each time and the first two were into a permanant medium , but the third, dirt, is a medium that is easily wiped away. Which immediately put me in mind of Jesus waiping away our sins no matter what they are or who we are if only we are to ask.Shrug It made sense to me and I felt that it was revealed by the Holy Ghost as I'm not usually that quick on the uptake. ;) Thanks for your video! Praying for you! Don’t be afraid to ask God: “Father, You say Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. You know all things, but I am struggling to understand and believe this (what I am reading/hearing) . I do believe; help me in my unbelief. I ask you for wisdom and discernment. Let there be light in my understanding.” (Praying Scripture has been enormously helpful to me! ‘Reminding’ God of His promises and love to us!) “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” -James 1:5-6

Knowing the facts isn’t as important as knowing Him. My favorite thing about this story is that the men who brought her to Jesus were trying to trap Him because THEY KNEW HE WOULD NOT WANT HER KILLED. They didn’t know what His argument would be, but even they understood that much about Him; and she got a 2nd chance.
@aleftav12
@aleftav12 29 күн бұрын
@@judywilson5183Not necessarily! It’s an assumption! - it’s the danger in preaching! Scripture says “they said this to test [try, tempt] him, that they might have to accuse him.” Yochanan 8:6! So it was not about the woman - it was about him! We don’t even know if the woman was guilty of this particular sin or not!

Not really. The living water that Christ gives us did not come until after His death, burial and resurrection. Actually, not until Pentecost. Jesus did not even forgive this woman. I like your interpretation and your knowledge of the bible, as well as the traditions of the time, and how they all come together. What I had read through the writings of Maria Valtorta, an Italian Catholic mystic, is that Jesus was writing the specific sins of each accuser as they spoke, which they instantly recognized, and as such, they all walked away in shame. I recommend her writings.

You like his interpretation? Mr. Cavens is not “interpreting” anything. He’s making stuff up. If you truly understood that John wrote his Gospel under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, you’d understand that what Jesus wrote on the ground was not important enough to include. In my opinion trying to add detail that God chose not to include is a very dangerous thing. May God bless you.

I think there's several Scriptures that can be viewed -- how about this from Numbers 5? "The priest then brings her forward before the Lord and gives her holy water mixed with dust from the tabernacle floor, “bitter water that brings a curse.” She will be unaffected by this bitter water if she is innocent of the accusations. But if she is guilty, “the water that brings a curse will enter her to cause bitter suffering; her belly will swell, and her womb will shrivel. She will become a curse among her people.” See, everything that was being given to her was HOLY - the water, the dirt within the Tabernacle curtains, the Priests were washed clean. It wasn't the mixture that determined her cleanliness, but only YHWH that would render judgement or salvation. Pretty neat!
