your presentation and the "journey" exercise were incredible... I was almost move to tears... it became so real... the faith, the incredible vulnerability - truly trusting in what must be the deepest, most "real" way possible... in the wilderness without anything but the Grace of God. Again... moving, and really an incredible experience. Thank you, and Bless you all!

To answer your question, gut wrenching and mind bending. I came here through hope and reaching through painful confusion and painful conditions thank you for the change of scenery, it did help me pray for the people who’s mercy I’m at. Being a father of six and running your own business is humiliating when you’ve been waiting for 14 months and trusting another mans word for your potential livelihood, that he and his cohorts may reject,but may not, or maybe will or won’t. What I do is reasonable and protects business from unnecessary liability, but Lord help us , thanks anyway for your vocations keep it Holy.

As we anticipated our first Christmas season together as a couple, we wanted to go all in for Advent but were a little disappointed to find out that Christmas music and parties are traditionally to be reserved for after December 25th. At first, this seemed like just another obstructive “No”. Curious to know more, we decided to look closer at what the church says and were delighted in what we found. The incorporation of fasting before Christmas is not the Church asking for a despondent “no”, but instead encouraging her people to make a triumphant “yes”. These 4 weeks of Advent are to inspire us to prepare for Christ arrival here on earth. Hallmarked by the biggest party of the year on Dec 25th, a foreshadowing of the principal celebration when Christ returns. We are invited by the Church to use this time to enjoy the preparing of our hearts for Jesus. Similarly, to how we have decided to enjoy the preparing of our hearts for our vocations. Joseph and Mary’s reverent act of faith, led them on a long and difficult journey, driving them to trust in providence and provision. They chose to walk away from comfort and familiarity, and willingly take a more difficult and uncertain path. As we light our second candle, we think about the choices we’ve made to walk away from comfort and certainty, trusting that there would be something better. We think about our choices to fast from certain things to grow closer together as a couple, like choosing conversation over television and emotional intimacy over physical. Likewise, we’ll approach Advent as a time of fasting to grow closer with God. This year we’ve done this in a special way, by consecrating ourselves to Jesus through Mary, on December 8th, 2019. We will openly pledged our lives to the Lord and asked for the Blessed Mother’s continual prayers for us as we journey here on Earth to meet her son in Heaven. Love, Lauren & Cody

"relationship with Mary" Where do you find that in the Bible? Roman Catholic stupidity never ends!
@jeannevincent65053 жыл бұрын
@@fastlane6096 What people fail to understand is that we view the Bible as the Living Word of God. If it has a story about Mary, we have to focus and ask why? The early church fathers are clearly jstating a early understtanding that Mary was the first apostle by saying yes to God, trust in God. She has a clear connection to the Old Testament understanding of what a Queen Mother meant - that is not the Queen per say, but the Queen MOTHER of the Kine, who needs to be respected, NOT WORSHIPED! Please listen to Brant Pitre, a Catholic theologisn, who explains our connection to Mary, and also a wonderful speaker Father Calloway, all accessible on ou Tube, If you are not a believer, then no amount of persuasion will convince you, but at least you will be given an true explanation of our devotion to Jesus' mother. Would you want us to disrespect your Mother? What lessons did your mother teach you? We learn from Mary to be a person of prayer, listen to God, and respond to what God wants from us, to trust in God.

As a Protestant, I gotta say that reflecting on Mary and Joseph's journey from being given the mission- carrying it out, (literally in Mary's case), and seeing their examples as followers of God is greatly encouraging and inspiring. I wouldn't go so far as to enshrine Mary, but she does stand as a grand example for the saints, called by God to follow, (as Rahab was in the old testament). Happy Advent to my Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

I felt lonliness for a long time, Rejection was on all sides for me, when I went for counselling to t church, I was told I am suffering from generational curses, and It was coz my faith was weak.. When I came close to Mama Mary , through her rosary ,the love that I felt now I didn't feel it for 28 years....People judge you for no apparent reason, but laying my eyes on the kingdom of God,helped me to stay grateful, and to balance my anxiety, Being a guy of 28 sufferings from anxiety and deepression makes you to shut yourself inside your mind,as not a single human understands what you go through... Mother Mary did come in my dreams in October 13th 2018 ,and all she said was Pray,Pray ,Pray... It was the most amazing moment as the feeling and the breeze was so cool and beautiful..

I was just at a conference and shared my experience with God as the Mirror of Truth. I love how Fr. Mark mentions how we see ourselves wrong! In prayer God keeps revealing how the devil constantly attacks us with a false perception of ourselves! We look in the mirror and see ourselves all wrong...we question ourselves. We may see only our imperfections...maybe physically or spiritually! We are not our temptations, the devil is! Next time you look at the Eucharist, know that Jesus is the Mirror of Truth! He reflects our true image!

Just listened to your presentation and it is beautiful. I loved all 3 of your incites about Mary and God. I too struggle with the “yes” to God in my own life. I go along thinking I’m a pretty good Catholic but I seemed to get stuck on that listening to him and asking me to surrender my will to him. I know I should but I seemed to get stuck in wanting to control my life. Its scary to me. I’m afraid of what he will do with me. But of course His plan is the best plan. This advent I’m trying to remember that. I want to be closer to Our Lord and for that to happen he requires this abandonment to him alone.

What God teaches us is the pure feeling of goodness. It is that goodness you carry through life. How can you carry it if it is too hard out there? And is the pandemic helping us restore our purity? Can you touch and stay in that feeling? Or are you just living the wrong way, because you can't sustain that goodness? All these questions to make you think of what your life means to you and those you encounter. God has touched your life through him you must keep living he will remain if you keep remembering and feeling.

I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation - 3 incredible voices! My only misgiving would be the presumption that Mary and Joseph loved each other. It seems to be used in the context we use it today and there's no evidence suggesting such a great love as that. Love to each other as fellow believers in God? Absolutely. Marital love? The Bible doesn't really answer that one. We can assume their marriage was prearranged by Mary's father but it almost takes away from the amazing story of Jesus' coming into this world by superseded it with this fabricated love story between the parents, particularly because that type of marital love (the one we know today) really wasn't a very fleshed out idea during this time. Other than that, the entire conversation was extremely informative and I simply adore these 3 when they exchange intellectual thoughts - let's see some more! :D

I know of a young woman, 35 years, no kids, good conservative catholic convert. Has been walking with God for over a decade. Has a masters degree, solid career, but deeply desires to marry and birth many children, be a stay at home home school wife and mother. She is a city girl but has been studying permaculture, as she wants to do hobby farming (avoiding big agriculture). Active in her church. She's funny, intelligent, charming, organized, very social. If you know of any young men who are strong in conservative and Christian values who are praying for a wife, contact me and with her permission put you in touch. She lives in the Midwest of the US. She's a tall girl (5'9) which is probably a hangup she has (the men who do liked her end up being shorter Than her and she's just weirded out by this trivial thing though) . Happy Christmas 🌠
