I still think about him more than any other internet celebrity who has passed. Although a lot of what transpired was due to severe mental issues that were outside of our control, I feel like he would have stayed with us if he had a better support system. Now he’s gone forever and we’ll never know.

@@alessiocece2098 Part of the contributing factor for him to do what he did was, because he was not always "on brand", his behavioural outbursts/manic episodes were very public on the internet via his livestreams and social media posts. This attracted all sorts of weirdo audiences who were into that sort of drama/behaviour and consequently egged him on to keep repeating & escalating that manic behaviour. Also, the weirder his behaviour got towards the end, the more he pushed away the audiences/fans who actually cared about him because he got "too weird/problematic" for them to keep seeing him in this constant manic state. In the end, he was left with nothing but a rabid audience who was just egging on his spiraling behaviour.

I remember in CND's nintendo store new york switch launch videos, in the midnight release Etika was offered to come inside the store like the media before opening to film and stuff. Even the employees at nintendo world new york loves him!

For me personally it wasn’t the Switch marketing that made me want a Switch, it was 100% Etika, the marketing was fine but Etika was the one who hyped it up so passionately that it made me want one, and BotW just so happened to be an amazing entry point to start at

Etika really pushed the Switch and especially Fire Emblem, Xenoblade 2, and ARMS, with the memes he naturally came out with. Despite not being on brand, he paved the way for a new wave of content in the Nintendo community and inspired a lot of people who were content creators and artists alike.

Wanted to take a look at how Reggie’s doing after his retirement. Found out that Kit and Krysta left too… wow. And stumbled upon this video on Etika as well. I’ve always wondered about this. Now I know, and It breaks my heart even more. Desmond felt like an older brother to me. I’m so glad I got to watch him since I was 12. When he played xenoblade 2 on stream I was intrigued. Picked the game up, haven’t seen the same since. This series literally changed my life - my whole world. Thank you Nintendo/Monolithsoft for this gift of light. 💙❤️ R.I.P. Etika. 🤍🖤

Yeah, he wasn't a big celebrity like, idk, Leonardo Di. Caprio or Chris Rock, or Pewdiepie, neither Markeplier, but still he was very inspirational, he started with very little, just with a phone and a toy tripod and still he made content with a lot of joy, overcaming addictions and making people happy with reactions. At the end depression got him and he is a clear example that without proper help depression can get even the strongest. :( Forever, the Hype Train will be trotting. #JoyconBoysForever

@@alessiocece2098 he did his whole content creator thing from scratch, it is not for everyone and he did it without any background experience, that takes a lot of bravery, specially to talk in public and he worked as an entertainer from all kind of things, from the simplest to the trolleists and weird for all curiosity, he even streamed one time about the deep web, how was like it. Honestly I always got scared about him because usually that brings trouble but he just did it to, you know, break the curiosity of people and at the end, a think he didn't like it but at the end he embrace it, he was truly a news content creator. You practically knew that if there was something existing related to games or technology or whatever the first to talk about and react was always Etika. Always.
