@@dcboy1918 Again, the game is almost 30 years old. It's like getting mad at someone for saying "Darth Vader is Luke's father." It's old news that is getting referenced in the game. If you actually played Remake and Rebirth you'd know that it's not even an actual remake, but a pseudo sequel to the original game and the movie, because events in the timeline have changed and shifted, like the scene we see at the beginning of the game of Zack being alive. The games are meant for people who already played the original and already know what happens.

Due to Clouds degeneration process, combined with his PTSD - he remembers certain events from the perspective of his Soldier comrade Zack. Most of this is covered by the game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, the prequel to FF7.

@@ClericOfPholtus Zack and Cloud were close friends, so Cloud knew a lot of Zack's personality. Additionally, Cloud WAS at Nibelheim, he was just a Shinra grunt who worked with Zack and Sephiroth, so he would know a lot of the details of the event.
