New sub here, and I have to tell you how much I love seeing a mr & mrs team going out thrifting together!! The mr always finds the box full of fasteners and tools, while the mrs scores good finds in the home decor. What a wonderful mix of great stuff to flip! I had a desk similar to yours which was an Eastlake brand from the late 1800s-early 1900s. Yours might be one too. There may be a label or mark on the back. Good find!

*Zeb, what a fantastic HAUL on all of the fasteners, tools, and that wonderful old 100 foot metal measuring tape box lot you found‼️👏👏👏 You also found that fabulous wooden compartmentalized tote with the metal handle...I think that is one of the BEST TOTES I HAVE EVER SEEN, and I can't wait to see how you upcycle it. *The vintage writing ✍️ desk is a gorgeous piece of furniture❣️ I am a person that prefers stained wood, but if you had to paint it, the new green color you chose would also be the shade of green I would paint it, since green is my 2nd favorite color, and I like greens on furniture. Your new cottage color is FANTASTIC❣️ Please do NOT PAINT KEYHOLES ON DESKS when they are brass (or gold) when the handles are gold...it looks goofy‼️😬🙃 My only suggestion on the writing desk would be to add a touch of golden ticket to the curlicue shaped wood embellishments on the desk to add a little sparkle - like adding jewelry to a little black dress❣️😉 See you Thursday. 😊*

Totally agree with Jami about the knife blocks. I live in a safe area in England in a village on the Hertfordshire Bedfordshire border, we also have large dogs which would alert us of any intruders but i have never had knives on show on the worktop they have always been in a kitchen drawer. Love your videos by the way, been painting furniture for quite a few years now and have recently opened a booth in a local emporium so you are a valued part of my inspiration so Thank-you! 😊❤
