Enjoyed the video, This is a great platform. I am not certified to teach but have taught for over twenty years in a private school. I am currently an aide-in public school for 20 years total.

My side hustle is my military retirement. I always wanted to go into teaching, but knew it doesn’t pay well. So I joined the Air Force and managed to worm my way into teaching positions while in, and then retired. Now i make 6 figures a year just teaching. I also have my GI bill and VA loan to boot. Something to think about if you are young.

I feel guilty selling lessons and curriculum on TPT because I feel like I should just be sharing them for free with teachers. I’ve always been taught that good teachers share. We already put so much of our own money into the classroom, I hate asking for $$ from other teachers. I wish ADMIN were the ones buying this stuff.

This was extremely useful. My teaching career has been severely interrupted after nearly dying from Covid in 2021. I now work as a supply teacher, but want to use the skills I have to build resources /help others.... I am fairly talented in the fields of tech, music, drama - but my main teaching area (my niche) is working with SEND students - so I have lots of tips and advice for teachers. I am planning lots of training that I intend to video and share through KZbin and also for paid training courses that can be downloaded- I will check out more of your advice and videos and let you know how I get on.... many many thanks!

I so agree! I especially wish more teachers did TpT! I have had my store for 8 years. It has really become profitable, giving me more freedom to actually teach less. But everything takes time to build. It seems like teachers want a quick escape from the classroom, but it takes time to replace that income.
@DanieJay3 жыл бұрын
Yes! Wow, Laura that is amazing it's built up for you! You're right, it definitely takes time to replace that income, and even more time when teachers keep putting it off haha! I know for me, I put off KZbin at first, because I didn't think there was room at the table for me. Now, it's really grown into something that has created significant passive income! I'm glad it started! I'm sure you feel the same with TPT! I need to check out your store!

Well stated that it takes time.

I'm a critical care RN and I have made my side gig overtime, and weekends. I added one day of overtime each week, and I took a weekend position that pays 1.5 x your base rate for all weekend hours. I also invest 25 to 35% of my income. The investments growth or the compounding exceeds my annual income. I reached $1M at age 46, $2M at 52, and $3M at 55. I'm impressed that teachers have so many millionaires in their midst, and now I'm beginning to see why that is...

GENUINELY LOVE THIS!! It is sooo important to niche down and find what you love/will love doing while you're beginning

Yes! Seriously! I always hated the idea of putting myself in a box, but niching down really allows you to make the biggest impact in the beginning!

I’ve been following Kayse Morris for a while and have done very little on TPT, but started 😅. Your video is very clear and precise. Thanks for the tips!

This was good timing! I’ve literally been thinking lately that I need something scalable since I need more moolah but don’t want to spend all my hours teaching 😂 definitely leaning towards digital art products, plus maybe some physical products (like cards etc) since the production isn’t too much of a hassle. I’ve taught card making classes on outschool so I’m like a machine now haha
@DanieJay3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! Yes, that sounds amazing. You could even try digital cards that people can customize easily and print on their own. Having both options could be a real powerhouse...especially if you find a good niche for yourself!

Teachers, don't let unfamiliar interview vocabulary trip you up. My KZbin tutorials provide strategies to help you communicate effectively and land jobs outside of education.
