Finally, someone takes the mystery out of this for me. I have Rev 9 Hyperstreet II and if you set them soft enough to not beat you up they body roll and dive badly and if you turn them up enough not to roll and dive your teeth chatter. Now I understand why they behave like that. Essentially linear rate shocks are junk and a waste of money and digressive is the only way to go.

Glad I could help.

Simple, like all dampers, damper dampen, in the case of car dampers they dampen (vertical) motion of the spring. You should use spring-rate of the spring to control the dive, squat, stiffness, flat-ride, oversteer & understeer; trim that using anti-roll bars. You can use a helper-spring or a progressive bump-stop for compliance/comfort...

Lotus were asked why they don't offer adjustable suspension on their cars and they said so customers can't mess it up...

Best coilovers for gbody?

go more into the valve, shim-stack vs needle, and 1-way(how it effects rebound vs. compression with only one adjustment), 2-way, 3-way, 4-way adjustability, and remote reservoirs, and nitrogen charging. Also, damping to match spring rate range. How to choose good damper to make ride better with same or stiff springs. Also springs, progressive, helper, swift, top hat designs, and are TEIN hydraulic built in bump stops...:)

man, been looking for this kind of video for months!

a followup video with examples would be awesome, like for a drift car why would one stiffen or loosen the rear of the front for example.

Low speed - 0.05 m/s to 0.26 m/s

Yeah Goofed and didnt say the point, when talking about the low speed. Good catch. I did this completely off the cuff with no script so there was bound to be something.

maybe stupid question, what do you mean by resistance? is it the spring movement?
