Didn't happen so heres my go: It's a butterfly valve that closes to prevent pressure from escaping the compression chamber in your cylinders which means the engine has to do work to compress that air on the next cycle. The force required to re compress the air in the cylinder pushes back on the piston which in turn pushes back on your driveline.

When you truly get in to the finer points of suspension (resonance % f/r for instance), things get crazy. Even the basics of camber, caster, toe-in/out, spring rates, geometry etc and their effect on one another gets pretty wild when you get into the math.
