I think I read that Vader used a force shield ability when in combat to protect his buttons and suit being manipulated via force by other force users. It didn't protect against lightsaber strikes tho. Post - suit Vader has hunted down and fought a handful of jedi, I'm sure that's the first thing Vader considered about his suit and being in combat.

I have a vague memory of "Darth Vader" making a guest appearance on a show called, "The Midnight Special," in the late 1970's, where he was interviewed by iconic DJ Wolfman Jack. One of the questions Wolfman asked Darth Vader (pointing to the Sith Lord's chest control panel) was, "What would happen if I touch this button?" Without skipping a beat, Vader replies, "You die." I wonder if this exchange inspired the famous line from, "The Dark Knight Rises," some 35 years later when Bane was asked what would happen if his mask was removed, and Bane replied, "It would be extremely painful . . . for you." All kidding aside, I wonder how many functions of Vader's suit's instrument panels was established when the suite was first made, and how much of it was retconned "on the fly" as the SW Universe began to 'expand' in a serious way? 611th Like.

A sufficiently powerful force user could probably mess with those buttons, but since he's in a constant state of agony, both physically and spiritually, he most likely has an extremely powerful dark side force aura around him, a shell much like how the Jedi are trained to keep up in combat, except his is constant and probably very disturbing to be near for anyone sensitive to the force. Rage and pain billows from his presence everywhere he walks. Seeing him in Rogue One during that scene where he talks to Ben mendelson's character was scary because that idiot pulled him out of his bacta and had him put on that damn cursed suit all to say to his face, "uh I did my job can I get a recommendation uwu" like bruh... wtf. I remember being a kid in the 80s when Return of the Jedi had just come out and I seem to remember a playground rumour that Annakin had turned into Darth Vader after falling into a volcano. It seemed unlikely then and there were probably other theories but maybe in 1983 George Lucas had already planned it and somehow it leaked out.

Can the Jedi and/or Sith use the force to heal themselves? If it were possible, Vader should have had plenty of time to do that so he won't have to rely on the suit. Unless Palpatine also added in measures to prevent such healing... Or perhaps using the force for healing is yet another ability that even the Sith consider to be... unnatural.

The obi wan example? That’s canon as it appears in the Disney kenobi series which is classed as canon. Also it gets damaged by Palpatine’s lightning which is what ultimately kills him - that is also canon. I should have maybe emphasised in the video that Vader could survive for a short while without it, and he even switches off the life support on his suit for stealth purposes for very short periods - watch the rogue one hall way scene, there are no lights meaning he likely turned it off seconds before appearing in the corridor

It doesn't make much sense that he would need all this life support for 3 amputations and some burns. None of his organs were affected, apart from his skin and maybe his lungs a little. Cool story but it makes no sense.

@@Star_Wars_Noob Don't get me wrong I'm a SW fan too and I did enjoy your video. Like many here, as a kid, I also wondered what the buttons did. To put my stupid realism seeking mind to rest I'll just have to tell myself the burns on Mustafar were so bad they burned through the skin and damaged a few internal organs as well !
