Hi Nate. Hope u can answer this pls. Bit confused. Say i have a simple chord progression of G C and D CHORDS. Does that mean i play G MAJOR scale over all these chords.. OR Do i play G MAJOR scale over G CHORD C MAJOR SCALE over C CHORD etc.. Hope that makes sense. Thanks

If g major is the key then you would use f major scale. The other chords put together form the sound characteristic of the key of g. So yes the g major scale over all the chords.

He’s playing a triad for each chord in the scale. He’s playing a G major triad, A minor triad, B minor triad..... and so on. Learn your triads! 🤘🏽

Yeah, limiting your choices out of a big scale shape can help make things more manageable when starting out. Yep, it's PRS S2 Semihollow.

Forget this. Learn licks from your favourite artists and vary them. And be careful to emphasise the right notes when you move to F (in key of C) and G. Most importantly work on your ear all the time. Never let your fingers lead except for when you are experimenting to find new sounds.

GuitarLessons 😎 well I just played over the backing track about 6 times. Played on 1st and 2nd string between 5th and 15th frets using 5, 7 & 8 as my “home” position. Nice clean amp setting with some plate reverb and it was like my little piece of heaven to unwind after work. Thanks again.
