It’s all about execution, and what you can bring to the table, and how you can make it your own. I say, whatever concept you have, explore it. let other people complain about it. Pan, I don't know if you'll see this, but I recommend upgrading to an iPad pro and getting an Apple Pencil. It has pressure sensitivity so it's hella useful. It also comes to a point unlike where the fabric pens you're using do. The big problem though is pricing. The Apple pencil is $100 and an iPad pro ranges from $600-800 depending on the size you get. Its expensive but personally I think its worth it.

alexandra galici I think economically that digital is the way to go, but right now it's not a real issue for me. I can get the paper I need from my school and I can buy sharpies for coloring and precise lines. I'm still learning things so when I feel good enough to start doing commissions or anything like that I'd focus more on digital.

You may not see this comment, but i want to say you are one of my favorite content makers on youtube. You're art style is colorful and unique, the comedy in your videos is hilarious(the guy thinking to himself in the abduction video was genius), come out with videos on a strict yet flexible update, and your video critique is very insightful. I also want to someday work on my own show, or at least be a storyboard artist/character designer to start off. Hell your videos inspired some of styles and characters. I draw all of my art by hand and scan it with a printer or my IPhone......

jmantime I used to do that too back when I didn't have a graphics tablet. Draw and outline on paper, do my best to take a picture of it with my crappy phone camera, move that to my pc and color it by mouse using my laptop's built in trackpad thingy on Gimp lol. To this day I salute anyone who does that or draws digitally by mouse because that was hard to do.

The Surface is great for just being an all-round tablet/laptop amalgamation but I wouldn't recommend it for just straight up art. Like it's fine but along with the iPad it's just less sufficient to draw on compared to a dedicated drawing tablet.

Well as someone who was always curious about how you do your art as the inner artist in me loves seeing other artists' processes, this was certainly a treat. I actually just got my own drawing screen graphic tablet as well though I got the XP-Artist 15.6 tablet instead of Gaomon but it's cool to see it's up and working well for you. If I may ask, did it take you awhile to get the response/stabilize to respond efficiently? Sorry I'm not entirely sure what the proper terminology is for this, I'm pretty much referring to the reaction to when you're drawing on screen, does it sync and respond well with no lag? Also I was very surprised to hear you use an Ipad as I didn't realize those can be used as actual drawing tools (Yeah I am so behind with technology lol). Would you recommend to other artists to invest in an Ipad for digital drawing? Nonetheless, nice informative review and interesting character. :)

You know pan if you're thinking of using photographed backgrounds, then maybe you could do that thing some manga/doujinshi authors do with realistic backgrounds. I can't remember what it's called, but if you're going for that style; I think it would help out your comic a lot.
