I brewed with HBC586 over two years. And both harvests were extremely different. The harvest from 2021 harvest had all yakima describe, 2022 harvest was grassy all over the place

I brewed an ipa last year with the HBC586 in combination with Polaris and Idaho7. My notes show that that combination it had an intense aroma of passion fruit and tropical fruits in general.

Nice to get a hop that is both pleasant and pungent. The zippy, high-note flavors you describe sound like they’d be complimented nicely by yeast that brings out deeper, riper flavors like LA3. When comparing Chico and LA3 side-by-side, for example, I think hoppy beers with Chico taste “bright” and with LA3 they taste “ripe” or even “overripe”. Hence my experiments with copitching to split the difference.

I have just had this hop in beer and it felt familiar. Didn't release it was HBC 586 which i have had before. If possible could you guys do a Meridian or Idaho Gem SMASH beer?

Dudes, I have a hedge of 8 magnolia bushes and when they bud burst, the aroma coming off them is something else! Kinda bubble gum fruit. I’m wondering if you know of a hop variety that would come close in the aroma sense? I think they would be terrific in a pale ale. Cheers

Don’t belittle the delectable flavor contributions of our various poisonous industrial-byproduct food dyes.
