The part about role models is big, I know for sure that assisted my husband's dedication to stay committed to me even in the moments where I wasn't as dedicated. Marriages in most cultures is between the families, point blank. One always has to consider who your children's grandparents, aunts and uncles will be. Even if someone's parents are divorced, how they get along post divorce is very telling. This gentleman is very wise, great guest.

He's correct. It takes two healthy people from no trauma to stay together. If one partner has unresolved issues DO NOT marry if it's you or the other person. Work on yourself and the other should do the same. My dad always says " A person should know thy self". That's in every situation. If you are applying for a job, know your skill level, your emotional self and intellectual self. That's an indication if you're qualify. The same for marriage, know yourself and what faults you will tolerate or not from another person. Be aware of what you are bringing into the relationship. Look at a person's family and ask yourself " Do I want these people as my in laws and my kids grandparents, aunties and uncles? How do you see yourself in that family. It's difficult to stick to " I'll stick with you no matter what" if the person is unappreciated by the other and spoken down to. That is stifling. It leads to depression which can cause medical problems. It will break a person.

This generation has lost it concerning marriage. we need to go back and ask our parents about marriage because they figured it out together with our ancestors. Today a woman is competing with a man without herself having the requisite capacity. Today everyone in a marriage is selfish and proud giving themselves values that they don't have Wife respect and honor your husband and husband love your wife. two simple instructions that are very complicated to modern couples. They define their own conditions for marriage and end up the most frustrated couples in human history

The brother gave some words of wisdom, but in other areas he completely missed the mark. The danger in marriage is when we think we have become smarter than God. His word is true and He is far more wise than we are. I guarantee you this…it’s not that He got it wrong, we did. We misunderstood what submission as a wife really looks like. We misunderstood what it means to be respectful. We misunderstood what it means that a husband should love his wife as Christ loves the church. Actually, this was one of the things I agree with the speaker on. He said he loves his wife no matter how she presents herself to him. This is biblical “husbandhood” and it is right.

@@AfroMillennialMomma 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 Sis, black people need to restore biblical marriages the RIGHT WAY. Just because our parents tried to force religion on us, does not mean they had it right. Some did, some didn’t. We should read for ourselves and seek understanding!

I tried that biblical respect your husband and love your wife mantra , it didn’t work for . I see it works for others , it however didn’t work for . What works for me is man love your wife and woman love your husband . That’s how I am managing my home . Maybe , I didn’t understand the biblical understanding of respect . Respecting my father and son are true different things but loving them are the same . Just speaking my truth which is subjective and not objective. Thanks

He so right you do have a higher rate of making it if you come from a whole and not a half. People trying to date and they only half a person u must be whole to be able to be even in a relationship. God must be the foundation of any relationship he is the one that put two people together man. I agree with him 100% some people come from good families and don't get it right u must be a whole person and no the difference when a man is not and u can't change people I don't care how great u are if u see the Signs of a man broken run because u can't fix him I say women because men don't set out to fix a woman but a woman always think she can change a man. U can't so don't complain when it doesn't work

From age 0 to about 7 it's the mothers who nurture the kids and take good care of them. After 8 years of age, a child needs the father in the house to install discipline and put them in good path. Most women are emotionally different each day and generally children from single mother homes are disadvantaged in a lot of things. The stats are around. You don't have to dig deep to find out. Let's encourage the nuclear family for a better society.

@@AlkebulanJahmiah she asked Okyeame Kwame about modern women keeps women single. I retirated that she was an example of that. She consulted Okyeame Kwame's wife before she and the husband separated. The wife told her that the number of years shechas being with the man was just a number and it gave her strength to leave the relationship whilst that lady was happily or unhappily in her marriage. As a man I would have done the opposite. It is better to work it out with your partner if there are kids involved. It will be selfish to let your emotions cloud your judgement. A man can cheat and still has 100% love for the wife. A Woman cheating is different.

Dela, did this man not know you and your husband have separated? He sounded clueless and rude when he implied married couples break up because they came from homes where their parents did not stay together “No Matter What”. OR because they chose toxic partners. There are many other factors, as we all know. Also, it makes me cringe to hear grown men talking about young girls beginning their menstrual cycle and being ready for sex. Women’s private parts are just that - private - and men should not be discussing such delicate feminine matters on public forums. Modesty is key. Also, he laughed about the example of women being beaten for not appeasing sex-obsessed husbands. This man has no couth and lacks self-awareness. Please don’t invite him again. 🙄

Menstruation is biology, not a curse word. I may not have agreed with everything but I found his candidness refreshing. Men have daughters, wives, and sisters with menstrual cycles. My Dad took care of me and picked me up from school when I had severe menstrual pain. I would hope that in my absence, my husband would be there in the same way for my daughter. I think if more people discussed these things, people would be better educated and behave as such. I'm not from an African country though so maybe it's just a cultural difference.
