You have quite a family. I know you are proud of each one of your kiddos. This is such a good example of teaching responsibility young and seeing the importance of each family member’s contribution no matter how small. This may seem trivial in the overall success of making the homestead work, but I was impressed with the follow thru of the chores. For example, how the lids were replaced securely on the buckets or barrels of feed, and how the doors on the tractors or cages were locked. These seemingly small details can go a long way in keeping the animals safe and healthy.

What an excellent share! Love how each of the kids are responsible for a certain chore, gives them such appreciation for what needs to be done for the day to run smooth. We live in the city and our boys were raised with contributing to chores needing done and even to this day their wives have thanked me for encouraging them then as they do a great amount now. Your kiddos are so heart filling-thank you for a great share

I do not think your children are learning as they should in all the noise in the room. Everyone. is eating cereal baby is crying. Children need a quite setting so they can learn. May be you could teach a few at a time as the children to go out side.

I love your homestead! You’re doing a great job with your children! It is what I believe in teaching children responsibility. They are learning valuable lessons that will help them for life. I didn’t realize that you had 16 acres! The Krege family are setting a great example of what can be accomplished and problem solving as with water for the pugs. Your children are awesome! ♥️♥️♥️

I'm thinking Bella and Leo could team up to make a KZbin channel on regular farm management. How she determines who eats how much and when, who helped build pens and housing, and Leo could take over the film editing and uploading 🤔 I'd watch.

She surely has enough information for her own channel!

One suggestion is to tell James that because he’s been so faithful and dependable in feeding his rabbit, you have a higher level job for him now if he would accept it. Perhaps Lydia, with James’ oversight, could take on rabbit feeding at the appointed time. And so on…(Love the way kids’ natural desires to learn and excel are being encouraged on the farm!)

I loved seeing how you all chip in to make all these animals work and not be too big of a chore for any one person. i would love to see a "part 2" in the winter. I am very curious how animal chores change for the winter, where they hunker down, etc. I eventually want to get more land and some animals, but we may try out chickens this spring!

What an interesting statistic on suicide in kids/teens. Thank you for sharing. I have a friend that is a high school counselor I will mention it to. Blessings to you & your family! How cool would it be for Belle to do an short term “internships” on farms such as the Winger’s, etc. so many great homesteading families out there!

I think it kind of applies to adults too. I was that teen who tried and it was my cat that kept me going. And even with my decline in physical health now, it’s my new cat (my first cat passed away years ago) that keeps me going. So having that anchor does really help.

Our oldest son is responsible for our chickens, he's showing our 4 year old how to take care of them. Soon we get to add to our livestock and we can't wait. I miss being able to walk around barefoot and the rocks didn't hurt my feet. 43 year old feet and grass is about the only thing i can walk barefoot in. 😂🤣

I need to get my kids more involved honestly. We just bought 118 acres and my husband wants to make things more automated so I’m not having to carry buckets of water and things like that, but honestly I don’t mind doing it. But we’re moving to West Va and I don’t know climbing up a mountain with buckets would be to fun lol. I adore y’all so much and hoping your pregnancy is going super smooth 🥰🥰
