I'm only watching this cause I just rescued one, and I have no idea what they eat Update: it's been a year since the rescue, and I wanna say it was my proudest rescue! The pigeon healed in a week and flew away! Also, it was a White Winged Dove! I love doves 🕊!

Cracked corn, cooked rice, oatmeal, peas, don't give them burgers or fries but put potato instead. A balanced diet is seeds with vitamins added, any birdfood or wild bird seeds will do. Don't give sunflower seeds snacks or popcorn because it has salt. If you have to force the food for a sick pigeon make sure you wash your hands. Hold the beak open and use pigeon pellets is best for baby birds. If you have to make a mash add water and allow them enough to fill his crop. Also syringe feeding is not that difficult. Once you grow your pigeon up, he will come home if you let him back to the city. Good luck.

I found a young pigeon yesterday and I feel like a new mum I'm a guy. I'm like a fish out of water trying to do the right thing for it. I feel like a prison guard force feeding a prisoner in a cell. It's about a month old going by his feathering, still some yellow but not much. To many options and opinions on utube to know what is the right way for the bird. Help 🐟

Oh lord i hope you reply to my comment and questions When you say CORN are you saying unseasoned Popping corn ? And what about chia seeds and uncooked rice ? Ive seen other videos that suggest uncooked rice that framkly scares me i only give cooked rice without seasoning for my little 6 to 7 member family of wild city pidgeons that live on my 6 story high rise and come 2 to 3 x a day for raw unsalted sunflower seeds I now know to not give exclusively anymore, THANK YOU for sharing this helpfull video I would never forgive myself if I fed them anything that could harm them . After my 16 yr old servi e died before new yrs I have gotten so much joy from my little flock and I feed them daily in my window sill I love my little flock ! ❤

You can feed pigeons unseasoned + uncooked corn, rice, and chia seeds. It’s okay for them to eat those things (: as long as there’s more variety added to that too.

You can hide food they need to eat in something they already like. I watched a video - sorry just got my pigeon a week ago so not personal experience talking - where a girl had a picky pigeon and she handed small bites of lettuce to the pigeon which she liked. But couldn't get her to eat pigeon pellets. So she hid them in the lettuce. Pigeon eventually got used to eating pigeon pellets.

One baby pigeon in a city died from cramps. He was found by me on the street close to a falaffel bar t hat use grillspice with E602 mtaste enhancener that I got sick from. Also wildlife get sick from this.
