Wow this is so cool! Not just observing how seasonal changes affect the inhabitants in an ecosystem but doing so over multiple years, and actually seeing changes from year to year. I hope James will keep doing this, I'm sure he will though :) I'm very curious to see how the cyanobacteria will fare over the coming years and how that affects this pond.

He won't. This channel is dead. They're gradually posting all the videos they made for this year but they won't be making more.

@@michaelmayhem350 This channel is ending, not James' microbial posts. He was posting his finds on his handle long before this channel existed, and will continue to do so afaik. He doesn't work for Complexly, he's collaborating with them.

Really interesting episode. James reminds me of the gentleman scientists of previous centuries who studied what interested them for decades and published their reports. Science owes much to them!

I wish I could turn into a cyst to just come back when things are better. I'd love to skip this miserably hot summer that hasn't even began to get really hot, yet. Sadly, I cannot just focus my do nothing vibes into cyst-hood, but I will keep trying nevertheless.

I find it insulting that knowing that the average attention span of a human is around 10 min, and you made the video a little over 12min... Knowing Hank, he might be wanting to experiment on us and slowly start increasing the average attention span. 🤣

I have read somewhere that this channel might close soon. Does it mean that the videos will no longer be available to watch or that new videos will no longer be added? This body of work is of great value to human knowledge as a whole. Losing it would be a pity. It needs more visibility. Netflix has various series showing large spectacular animals but nothing about the most astonishing tiny world underlying all life on earth. Maybe they could be interested? Maybe BBC directly?

I have two sets of three word. 1: Here is Hank? 2: So not watching. 1 + 2 = thumbs down, sorry James. Where's Hank? I don't watch these when Hank is not at this post and I strongly belive that there are many more like me out there. Hopefully all that read this and agree, will not be afraid to have their voices heard by liking this post. It's not just for me and the others, IT'S ABOUT THE CHANNEL FOLKS.
