The Games against teams like Michigan are worth keeping. Not just because of the fan appeal, but it is a strategic piece. If you beat a Big Ten foe like Michigan, you set yourself up for playoff leverage. You win 9 games, but Michigan wins the Big Ten, it means you essentially guarantee your spot in the playoffs. It’s the equivalent of beat the entire Big Ten conference from a selection standpoint.

As an LSU fan, I wish we were moving to a 9 game conference schedule this year. One less cupcake game to watch. I also have trouble seeing Clemson and Fsu joining the Big 12. I wouldn't mind having them in the SEC, though. Would be some more big-time matchups. In a perfect world I wouldn't mind if the SEC ended up playing a conference only schedule. It would be called a 6-6 format. Nonstop quality matchups. Great video man keep it up.

I think getting schools to agree to conference only, would be tough. There are a lot of rivalries that exist in different conferences. But I think playing just 2 out of conference would be incredible. I think there is a lot of smoke that seems to be blowing in the 9 game direction, however. The question is, does the cupcake remain, with only 3 games?

Always thought Nebraska not Texas was our biggest rival especially when both us was Big 8 teams crazy that Texas a team we didn't share a league with till 96 was always considered our biggest rival when OU Nebraska decided conference and national championships for decades 🤔

You aren’t understanding the facts on the Fl St / Clemson Big12 exploration talks. They are not the first two or three schools on the SEC or Big10 want list. Furthermore, Oregon & Washington joined at 50% payout value (out of necessity). FlSt & Clemson getting 40% would still create a large gap. If the Big12 can leverage Private Equity to supplement annual payouts up to 80 or 85% of Big10 payouts they’d come out ahead. They’d also get more visibility as they’d be higher in the broadcast pecking order in theBig12 than in the SEC/Big10.

It makes sense to go to 9 eSECpn games because they can do 4 team pods with the current 16. Every team is going to have three rivalries that they play every season. And then they play the rest of the other 12, 2 years on and 2 years off. So in a four year period they will have played everyone in the conference, home-n-home. They can work out the non-con however they please after that. Either way, Oklahoma is competing for championships Sooner than later.

As an old football fan let me tell ya who the Traditional Blue Bloods are..at one time Nebraska was surely was one But theyve been so bad so long I have to say they've Lost that status!!..and there's only 7 total..Fl st and Clemson are NOT blue Bloods, never have been..the 7 Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Ohio st, USC, Notre Dame..Period Next level down would be teams like Penn st, LSU, Georgia, FL st, Clemson, Auburn, Miami, Florida, Washington, Tennessee, oregon and a handful more, then the level below that, Texas tech, Arkansas, ucla, South Carolina, Pitt, VA tech and a handful more then everyone else..

I have been traveling to these big out-of-conference away games for a long time and they are super cool (except UCLA - that was lame, no atmosphere). Please don't cancel this great home & home series. Michigan v Texas bookends OU v Michigan. Good on Michigan going 4 years straight against UT or OU.
