It’s some all time great qbs that have had their best years in year 4. It isn’t a one size fits all approach to developing a qb. Some are good asap, some take a few years, some get to sit and develop for a year or 2, some have to go to a different team(s). Fields has been dealt a terrible hand as far as a team around him but the bears have a chance to change that and properly evaluate him this season. It can go either way whether to keep him or draft qb though.

Along with what I wrote elsewhere on this page, I don't think it's a coincidence that the best games of the Bears all season came in the few weeks after D.J. Moore vocally supported Fields & a few teammates finally also did. I think that this pressured Matt Eberflus to change things, or at least *he* must have thought so. Then the verbal support ended & the Bears returned to their previous form which didn't include plays where Fields was allowed to pass to open receivers. Not all coaches want to win at all costs. Some years ago when the team (Commanders) were on a record-breaking rushing pace they started losing & during that streak they abandoned the run. A player half-kiddingly urged the coach to call for more runs. The coach barked back at him how he was tired of their rushers getting all the attention of the press. I mean can you _imagine? Well, yeah, you should be able to. Bellichick would rather sink his franchise than allow any other way than his own. The article about Sean McDermott paints a picture of a man who regards all positivity in the clubhouse as a sign that he isn't running a tight enough military platoon. & Eberflus meddles in the o-line making Fields The Most Pressured QB & ruthlessly calls to end any plays that make him look competent. While I think that they can't keep both Fields & 'Flus, the circumstances may force Poles to keep Fields & my hope is that the First Time Eberflus tries to interfere in any aspect of the offense, Fields puts him in his place in front of the team & that ends all his BS because _MAN,_ it is hard to imagine anyone else except The Most Incompetent asses like McDaniels or Staley doing this little with this much.

Beautiful video. Subscribe. I could be wrong, but I believe Poles spoke to JF and told him he's back next year. The Bears are not known to be a cutthroat organization for starters. If JF had a bad season, there's nothing cutthroat about trading him. However, I think his market Value is around 47 million per year which would indicate that he did prove himself in spite of some up and downs throughout the whole team during the 2023 season. Poles knows for sure what he's doing already. I know there is a mad dash to grab coaches and coordinators when the season ends and this leads me to believe that Poles made his decision prior to the end of the season.

I watched Fields and Williams college film and both are good. I did not think Williams is so much better. If anything, his tape had a lot of playground plays considered highlights. I’m just a fan, but they look like a similar dual threat player where Fields is taller, bigger, faster, and more experienced. The passing comparisons of both players in college was very similar; whereas Williams is 2-6 against top 15 teams. Justin’s NFL passing stigma is overblown. He has some bad NFL passes in the flat, but he’s not throwing terrible INTs downfield, he goes through his progressions, and he makes the pinpoint throws. The WRs dropped a lot of them. I prefer sticking with JF1 and trading back based on a strong preference for a humble, blue collar, no drama/diva, and team-first personality. Both guys can be good pros.

This a one of the best videos I've seen that allows me to say this; Be careful of those analyses that says Fields cannot throw or read a defense well you're seeing all of that here. Fields did not come into the draft as a running quarterback who led Ohio St. to 2 championship games and 2 of his receivers went into the 1st round of the same draft. Now these facts don't follow some of the analyses you hear or read but then you see this video and there maybe others clearly shows he does do what they say he can't. Another that you don't hear is his leadership which has really been on display since he started as the Bears quarterback. You say, all he wants to do is run the ball well he is doing what he knows to do to take his team to the endzone. None of the quarterbacks and it's not their fault in this upcoming draft have taken their team to two National Championship games which in all honesty displays a players leadership ability. It does take 3-5 years of developing into a pro quarterback in the NFL because of the top level defensive minds leading those defenses, so it's not that simple as they try and make it. Fields is nearing this level of play so why would you want to reset the clock backwards at this very position?

Bears fans have been arguing about Justin V Caleb for a month already. its so tiring. To me, there is no argument. - Justin has the worst pocket presence i've ever seen in a QB. he eats sacks at one of the highest rates. - He has no ability to step up, slide, or move to create throwing lanes while processing information. he's the anti brady (or even carson palmer) - He has no ability to run a timing based offense. - He cant handle zones or the blitz - He has a very slow, bad delivery which makes screens and tight throws even harder and gives defenders a jump on his passes. - He cant throw in breaking routes in between the numbers so he avoids 65% of the field. you're never going to fix all this and turn him into a top 7 QB, which is what you kinda need so that statistically you are better than the QB on half the play off teams. Worst of all, you cant "build and offense" around him because unlike other "average" QBS, justin is not a ball distributor. He doest him his drop back and rip throws. He holds the ball, get sacked or scrambles on 20% of his drop back and the rest of the time he doesnt throw it to read 1. he isnt tua or kirk cousins where they might not be elite but they get the ball into the hands of playmakers the way the play was designed. Bottom line: Justin fields is a mess. As a bears fan, I've watched every one of his games multiple times. No QB coach/ OC sits around thinking "What i want to do is spend the next 3 years fixing justin fields while we pay him 45M and we lose 10 games a year". At best JF is colin kaepernick or Randall Cuningham. But he's probably tyrod taylor or Kordell Stewart.

He did miss 4 and a half games... That's at least 800 passing yards and 200 rushing yards, based on his per-game averages. So without being injured, playing in all 17 games, Justin would've finished the season with around 3200-3300 passing yards and 650-750 rushing yards. Not a bad season if you ask me.

Why use that number 1 pick on 1 player? Trade the pick get a haul, and maybe you get another number 1 pick especially if you trade with Washington. They are rebuilding from ground up.

You fire offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, you retain the coach, you interview Caleb's quarterback coach for OC...and you don't hire him, you believe in character....I've heard nothing about Justin off of the field AND how much his teammates like him but I have heard about Caleb's fingernails, crying, father, his camp, not wanting to play and also ok with playing in Chicago, wanting ownership....trade the pick to Washington AND then trade that pick to New England AND then draft MHJ.....and Bear Down! You don't interview Caleb's quarterback coach, who knows him and would be ideal to coach him for the next several years to NOT hire him....doesn't say we're taking Caleb....it says we're playing poker and sticking with JF1

Pay Fields $178 million for the next 5 years and eff our cap. 23rd ranked QB1 by QBR stats. Yes he’s better than Zach Wilson! Draft CW! It’s a no-brainer!
@samuelhowie45439 ай бұрын
If you're going to talk about something do a little research. Justin is going into his 4th year but the 5th year option that 1st rounders have has to be picked up or declined before the start their 4th year. His $22 million on Tue 5th years will be his 2025 salary, not this year.

@rongee44338 ай бұрын
Fields compared to this years qb draft class numbers out to the 4th best . Fields is a runner with a good deep ball . After 3 years still cannot read the D . Justin is under 20% when facing zone defenses. You cannot pass on this years qb draft class . All are better than justin and they dint solely depend on legs . Forget feelings , when you have the pick of a great QB class that all eould pick before justin , passing would be plain stupid . Multiple scenarios bears get calib or drake and marvin . 13 teams in dire need for a qb , bears in the cat bird seat here with #1 and fields at highest trade value . And hild up here boy , nobody said justin cant throw a deep ball , he throws a great deep ball . But thats all he can do ! Justin cant di the easy , 3 years body of work to prove it . His short and midrange passing game is pattetic . Watch the films cupcake , most of his throws are low , behind , to high and almost never able to throw a guy in stride , and isnt able to thriw to a guy b4 his break , justin needs the contact which is why hes always late ! Omfg ..... Thankfully justins gone , and the dufas fan will firget and get behind the better man

Trade him and move on to Drake Maye period end of discussion. If Justin moves on and is average who cares. He will be an average QB wherever he goes. I will always root for him but he is just that an average thrower and great runner. That great part is not going to get you to the Superbowl.

People who think Justin sucks don't know what they're looking at. He's the most dangerous QB in the NFL. Put a line in fornt of him and he'll take you to the show. Give him Marvin and Braelon Allen.... and he'll win it all.
@rongee44338 ай бұрын
Fields - he has a great deep ball and top tier legs . He does these things best . However you miss the body of his work . Justin is terrible at doing the easy , the short and midrange passing game where he routinely throws to low , behind , or to high , he cannot throw to guys in stride , he cannot throw before the break , he cannot throw guys open . You can't argue that and that's on him not coaching . His mechanics are still bad but gets away with it due to his athletic ability . Justin cannot read defenses, look no further than Justin when facing zone defense. He's literally the worse in the league at under 20 % !!!! That's clear cut confusion and he's not improved at all in 3 years at reading Deez . Without Justin's legs , nobody is starting him in the NFL . And look at the brutal hits he takes , for holding on to the ball longer than any NFL QB . Bottom line poles knows this , fields will be traded and the bears will take Calib or Drake . Both far better pure quarterbacks who do make all the throws . Many scenarios where bears get the #1 QB and Marvin . That with a super deep free agency market and the bears having the 2nd most amount of money to spend have the bears building a machine
