They had them in Austria as well, perhaps unsurprisingly. When I travelled there in 2018 and my son was still two years old, he had quite a few food allergies. He's since grown out of them all, but it was super helpful to have that information on the 'normal' menus and partly influenced where we went that year.

I'm pretty sure that's one way to follow the rules of the European Union, that makes you list all the stuff that could be harmful for allergic costumers
