What do these have in common?

Solar Projects: Custom Electric Vehicle conversion, Homemade Solar Pool Heater, A Solar Powered CNC Machine; all this work has made me realise how much free energy there is... and it's free to you too, Just look up (during the day that is ;-).
We don't have to pay for the energy (only on the products to get and use it), it's reliable, consistent and runs better than clockwork (we have to adjust our clocks.;-).
So why not try and make something that benefits from this free resource. The cost is rapidly coming down and there are even schemes to get money back from installing them.
This video is an introduction into my channel and some of the projects I am working on. I am still a little camera shy, although feel that renewable energy is the way forward.
The MG F Electric Vehicle conversion is being done using the Solar Powered Mill and will be run purely from stored solar energy.

Thanks, the CNC machine allows me to get on with other elements as it was taking me 6 hours per part, it has taken me a while to convert the mill, although a lot of that was programming

Great work on the cnc conversion, you've done an amazing job. The mg project will be fascinating and I'm sure you will do well with that too. I'm engineering an electric hovercraft but had to abandon my multiple small BLDC motor power plant as the efficiency and battery requirements did not work out to be feasible. In the end a single larger BLDC motor produced the power required with more efficiency and therefore a smaller battery system.

I may go down that route eventually, although want to see if I can get it all working together, modern microprocessors are very rapid and I'm using 24 individual batteries and speed controllers controlled using independent microprocessor, so everything running in parallel, I bet your hovercraft is good fun 👍

I'm sure that it's a good plan for your application. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work the way you have designed it. Unfortunately for any flying vehicle (even if it's a few inches!), weight is paramount. The battery pack I would have needed for that setup would have been far too heavy for my design constraints, certainly for any reasonable duration. Thankfully not so much of a concern in an electric car! The hovercraft should be excellent fun, the ducted fan thrust, prop, torque and battery calculations- not so much.......plus single motors and appropriate sized esc's are ridiculously more expensive! Really look forward to your project updates, cheers.

Anytime Neil, if I can be any help or just to talk stuff/ideas through! I'm in Tasmania, Australia unfortunately- it would have been ace to give you a ride. It's like nothing else really, I charge around the wilderness rivers here as its immune to rocks and trees in the water- even some white water Rapids! When this current nightmare eases and travel happens again, you should come for a visit. As soon as I have some decent footage I'll let you know. Just been let down by an electronics provider for the esc (avoid maytech in China!), so the thrust testing is delayed. As you know, calculations and theory are great fun but nothing beats real world testing.

Thank you, hmm good question, I should be able to get the spindle and Z-axis done on the mill fairly quickly now as the programming side has most of this already done. I will hopefully be testing 3 motors on the power unit in a few months, the car may move later this year all being good 🤔😁
