You maybe don't recognize the voice, but the one narrating is Vueko, the red-haired girl from the first episode, obviously when they came down they didn't really know much about the curse, so that last sentence about "didn't know about not being able to leave this place and remain human" wasn't about the specific area where they are right now, it was about the 6th layer generally.

I agree fully, Miss Samoo, the landscape and creature design in this series is very cool. It's like pretty camouflage for the awful things that happen.

Non spoilery spoiler alert, the "creepy note" is actually quite wholesome once you find out what those symbols translate out to. I definitely recommend giving this show a second watch after finishing it. Once you know all the big plot twists and shocks, you start picking up on more subtle things, and go check out fan theories and discussions, too for insights into things that might still be confusing.

Much of the show is about humanity, and that sexual side is also part of humanity, there is so much more to the show and its not thrown in there for no reason.

That's quite a common complaint for MiA. It's also the reason why i can't usually recommend it to people, despite me adoring the series so much. On the up side, the anime cut out most of the really bad stuff from the manga. Really hope the author finishes the series before the FBI get to em.
