This is actually one of the better wedding planning videos I've seen!! I like how you don't gloss over important issues like budget and guest count, but you actually dive in to the nuts and bolts in almost a scientific way. I'm not even getting married anytime soon 🙃 but appreciate your knowledge! Great job!

I always say numbers equal numbers. The number of people will dictate the number of your budget! More people, more money. Love your call out on that people have a number in their head but are afraid to share it! We're all here to help!

Yes!! This is so important especially for you as a florist. I’m glad you make this a part of your discussion with clients. Numbers equal numbers! 💯

Me and my fiance called out a number right away from the get go. People from family members and wedding venues laugh at us. Meanwhile they aren't the ones paying 🙄

You're freaking me out ! My fiance is Italian and wants 300 plus people and thinks a wedding costs 40 000$ I Canada. I don't want to let him down but it feels ridiculous

Preach it, Val! I love the "freak-out number" - I've used this term in consults since you first posted this. It definitely helps potential clients understand.

Yep... as soon as I heard $100,000 my eyes bulged and I said this is not the video for me. Switching to a lower budget guide video.

She said in the video that it was just to use round easy numbers. You can do the math yourself

@@LeesaLilHop your comment confuses me. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.
@maiaguenther12993 жыл бұрын
@@Nida_s unfortunately no! But I haven’t been looking either. Haha sorry. A tip I’ve seen shared before: when planning, try to avoid telling vendors it’s a wedding... they charge way more when they hear the word!
@LeesaLilHop3 жыл бұрын
@@maiaguenther1299 she didnt say $100k should be your budget. She broke down how you would need to think about paying for various things according to your own budget. If you dont have a $100k budget, you can still use the tips she used in the video and do your own math for how much your wedding would cost per person.

Just go to the court house, spend the money on a house and have the reception in your backyard. I just saved you THOUSANDS of dollars.

A 100,000 dollar budget? That's about 10 times my freak out budget! Why would people spend such an incredible amount on ONE day? Where on earth do you live, that you would spend 200.- on food for just one person! How much can one person eat on one single day? And half of those are on a diet anyway... There are still tens of thousands of people starving to death of hunger and hunger related problems. In our world. Today. Does anyone see the problem here? Is humanity out of their minds?!

WTF, most people won't buy a $10 burrito for a friend of a relative (per person). Marriage is overrated. Who would want to pay $1000 for your distant cousin's date whom he paid $150 per hour just to escort him and make him look average and normal.

Great video, super helpful! I'm planning a birthday and cost per person is the best strategy. In London a high quality meal + drinks cost about £30 - £50 per person, crazy to think that in New Orleans (where Valerie is based) it's $200! The AVERAGE wedding in the UK is £500 per person: 70 guests for £35,000 total spend.
