What do you call half of a Half Groat. Elizabeth 1st medieval hammered silver coin metal detecting.

What do you call half of a Half Groat? A quarter Groat?
A groat was 4 pence. So a half groat was worth 2 pence. Hence (love that word!), half a half groat is a penny!
It will be a penny worth of silver. This has a diameter of 16mm and is in all likelihood an Elizabeth 1st half groat minted in London. (Or rather half of one!)
Interestingly it has two holes. The smaller round hole could be to wear it on a thread around the neck. The larger 'square' hole could have been made while it was in the ground perhaps. What was holding the coin while it was being pierced must have been strong enough not to give away completely so that the coin moved and was not pierced, but also soft enough to let the silver burst through the back and form 'ridges' and not be flattened. The fact that it is square suggests it was pierced a long time ago when nails were hand made and square.
