Love your moped videos been watching for years and I’ve learned a lot from your tutorials thank you and please keep it up. If I had the funds I would rebuild it. The gratifying satisfaction I would have when it’s completed. Priceless 👍🏽

Thank you! And I agree, it would be very satisfying...maybe something is in the cards yet :)

I would definitely vote for rebuilding it. Learning a new motor is super fun.

The largest size overbore piston puts you at like 57cc, so not bad. The 210 cylinder has good porting, and a cast iron sleeve that can be pressed out for boring. It's a pretty ideal candidate for overboring.
@bjf1011 ай бұрын
and yeah, rebuilding via the backburner is totally appropriate. :)

Agree with all of that!

Take it all appart and see if it is worth fixing. You have the know how! I will watch and enjoy like I always do..

Where's the house update?!? Really left us hanging

I'm overdue! Thankfully all the house surgery was a success

If you look closely at the head, in front of the fin dampeners on the cylinder, you'll see a hole cut all the way through the fins on the left side; that lines up with the overflow line from the carb, so in theory overflowing gas goes straight through onto the ground rather than pooling on the head / cylinder. Jawas are full of fun little features like that.

This is why I love mopeds - it's those little details!

I like it! The Newport 2 has my favorite Puch color scheme!

It could be fixed, doesn't take long to strip a moped down then clean and derust and reassemble. The wheels and frame and stuff aren't bad for rust. If I didn't have time to do it id back burner it cos I'm a bit of a hoarder or id sell it on to someone who wanted to do it. I've seen far worse restored.

i had Jawa 223 engine, it was horrible to work on. You could try to rescue it in low cost, if you can save crankshaft and cylinder then it should be pretty straight foreword to make cheap resto, but i would not invest big money in to it. This could be cool project to document on your YT channel.
@TravisTutorial11 ай бұрын
I definitely agree, If the cylinder could be cleaned up with the hone and if the crank is savable it'd lean more toward being worth it

Jawas are GREAT! Parts are surprisingly available; pretty much everything you can't get from treats you can get from jawashop. I have a sweet 1995 one-speed jawa 210; it's surprisingly torquey and has super rad jazzy style decals.
@upsidedowndog125611 ай бұрын
I am not sure I would take it on but you have experience with resurrecting this type of machine. You know the parts sources and are apparently in an area with more mopeds than I am. Start by mixing ATF and acetone 50/50 and spray everything that should move but isn't. I pulled a Benelli noped out of the woods once. I never could get anything freed up enough to do anything with it.

@@Fluxo2 Nice, yeah I've been combing forum posts and it seems like they can have some nice low end grunt! And they almost certainly pronounce it differently in Europe, I was told "Yawa" a few years back
