I would sit him at least the next two games they don’t need him offensively they are what they are. They won the football and they played great defense. The Texans are not a great team. They can win that game without Patrick Mahomes it’s the Steelers that are going to be super tough but again they can still drop that game and be at least two games ahead within the conference if they win one out of the next three games in my opinion, they’re still gonna be the number one seat because I’m looking at the bills remaining schedule and I think they’re gonna drop at least one out of those three games which with all, but keep them out of the number one seed

I'm of the same mindset as a Chiefs fan. Like I get it that we want the one seed but with our defense and Carson's NFL experience I feel comfortable seeing us try to split one of the next 2 games and then just trying to fight for the one seed in week 18. He's played through high ankle sprains before but this offensive line is just too bad for him play 2 more games in 10 days against teams that can heat up the passer. 2022 was different because the offensive line was great that year and it was already the playoffs.

They have an elite quarterback. Why do we want a Patrick Mahomes stuck in the pocket and being sacked badly ? If his mobility is limited he must warm the bench and come in only if the team is in a bad situation. Starting the game is an ego issue. He has missed several passes that didn’t look hard for him during the last 2 games, overshooted because of the pressure probably. When he was replaced yesterday it was a relief to see a fresh QB with stamina because Patrick looks exhausted

Mahomes is playing as good as any QB could given the situation. Down #1 & #2 WR, #1 RB, and worst offensive tackle situation of any NFL team. Argument could be made that a more mobile QB like Josh Allen would provide more flexibility and offensive success, but KC had to completely change it's offensive identity in season due to losing 3 of it's biggest weapons. Mahomes has the Chiefs at 12-1, and anyone who says the Chiefs would be 12-1 with anyone else at QB is just yapping.

It is not that difficult. They will start with Wentz, and if it works out, he'll finish. And it will work out, because Mahomes' performance was not so great lately. He overlooked and overthrew, and though Wentz might have a turnover or two, the defence, Pacheco/Hunt, Kelce, DeHop, and Worthy will do enough for a tight win. 16:14, my guess.

Really needed the Lions to win last night, because I don't see the Bills losing to the Jets or Patriots, so the Chiefs will have to win twice. I'd rest Mahomes against Houston and see if they can win with Wentz. If they win or Buffalo loses, you can also rest Mahomes on Christmas.

I feel like taking a potential L to the Steelers is our best option. Playing Wentz there and having Mahomes potentially healthy for the Texans and Broncos would give us a good shot at maintaining the first seed. Sometimes having control over which L you take is important. Plus I've seen Andy Reid beat good teams with worse QBs.

Chiefs need to win the next two games and then Mahomes will have two weeks off before they have their first playoff game. I say start Wentz and see how it goes. If it doesn't go well put in Mahomes. Maybe just play Mahomes the second half of the next two games. The other wild card is that the Chiefs are going to need some long throw ability to make it through the playoffs (IMO) and they have been working this is games with Worthy, etc. Take Mahomes out and this ability doesn't get developed.

I think Carson can do it. We should definitely rest Mahomes for Texan game and then let Carson start for Steelers. If Mahomes can or needs to go in later, then fine. If Carson has it, then let Mahomes continue to rest the whole Steelers game as well. We need Mahomes healthy for playoffs and we have faith in Carson anyway. Besides, even without the injury, he's getting pummeled game after game, and we play what 3 in 11 days. He needs a break, that's the smart move.
