Culture Shocks, Japan surprises and moments we wanted to cover our eyes in Japan: tourists, travelers and visitors in Japan share their thoughts and opinions about Japan and what cultural aspects they would like to steal. Of course not in the sense of pick-pocketing but more like in the sense of what they wish they could take from Japanese culture and incorporate into their own culture back home.

3 things I noticed about Japan from what I've read & watched online. Their cities are safe & clean & the culture values self-reliance. I would like to bring this to the USA.

Two things I would like to be adopted into the US, that is recycling (and disposing plastic properly) and taking shoes off before entering houses (which it is also encouraging making places clean).

As for the question on the video… I really didn’t steal them but more like traded. My friends used to tease me allot about my bunny slippers. When I had to leave Japan in 98 I gave my best friends their own bunny slippers while I took theirs.

I think i would not steal sth but it's time for some people to learn from Japan. Safety would be sth and by that i mean being able to go out any time of the day but mostly at night without being scared getting robbed, stabbed or other things. And having some little respect for each other & being a little more friendly/polite with others.

I wish sales tax in the US was like it is in Japan. When I went to Tokyo last year, if something was 1,000 yen...you paid 1,000 yen. In the US something is $10 plus the sales tax which varies by state.

This is actually a fairly recent thing, (required by law from 2021 April). In Australia this has always been a requirement. All prices must be final, i.e. has to include GST (or sales tax). I'm sure a lot of other countries require this as well

To be fair, most of the pop culture stuff of Japan is actually Japanese stealing from the West. If you look at anime, it's based on Western cartoons, the characters dress and look Western. Pop music is Western music. Traditional Japanese music is not JPOP.
