I would have loved it if I were younger but not now. No shower in the primary room is a no-go for me. That glass floor would be wasted, unusable space for me because I'd be too scared to walk on it. Love the sunroom space off the upstairs loft area.

Nicely done property for the age. They did what they could to modernize it. The bath only in the master is not a dealbreaker, it does have a shower wand. Lots of light , storage. Its a townhouse so its a spiral staircase or elevator?? 🛗. The bonus in the loft was the sunroom. The folding doors 😫. The asking price for a condo, no. Over a million for an HOA, no thank you.

Take the 'mil' off the price and $725,000 is a reasonable price for negotiation. I like older properties because of character, and don't mind the seperation of the kitchen from the living/dining room. Walls allow custom decorating that you wouldn't have with "open concept". The primary bedroom with a jacuzzi bath/no shower was strange. The other bedrooms with seperate living rooms leads me to believe that this property is being used an AirBnB or temporary housing for executive travelers, which may account for the mediocre finishes.

I really like this one. The top sunroom is AMAZING!! I'd never walk on the glass floor. Having the sunroom, I can overlook the kitchen flaws (though I'd have to ask them to fix those), but that half-wall divider between the dining room and living room makes the space seem smaller. I'd have to knock that out. I rarely used the formal dining room in the homes which had one. So, I'd like to have one massive living room instead with a small table on one side. The whole house seems nautical to me, like you are on a big boat.

That's a great space for a single person. It's nicely situated. You can entertain a couple of people in the loft. It's unique. Great light. I don't think that price is good because you can buy a single family home for that or less. They're gonna have to lower that price. It's too narrow in width for me. I like more open spaces.

I would give this a B-. I would have to get those cabinets leveled and I would take out that glass on the floor. That sun room was awesome. For 16th St NW, $1.7M is pretty good. ❤ As many have said, too many stairs. I need one level now LOL

Okay, there are a couple of problems-no shower, and nope on the glass floor. BUT, overall, I like this condo. Nothing wrong with vintage. Won’t be long and people will be paying premium for this old style.

That third floor atrium is amazing. I like the wood. I would not call that retro as much as I would call that European. As far as the glass floor panels- there is no way I would set foot on them unless there was a decorative iron grate underneath that was rated for strength. I have a glass balustrade in my house. I inquired before my offer to know if it was tempered. I believe it was, and I have talked to the owner several times he is a designer in the Ozarks of Missouri and he designed this he redesigned this newly new home for his son originally. I was the first occupant after the remodel of a 20 year old house that is surrounded by other houses that are over 100 years old. Other thanq that, it looks like an average updated DC townhouse. Yeah, the saving grace is that atrium. However, depending on what direction it faces heat control could be a gigantic issue.

I'd love it, but I wouldn't pay the price. I'd never walk on the glass floor or use the tub. And I like spiral stairs when they don't have the gaps. But these steps would be a no go for me. Beautiful space otherwise.

I like this condo. If I was younger and the house was 100k less I would consider this home. Especially if it sits in an area that is my with personal career goals/ opportunities. It would be a nice first home that you know you can resell due to location alone.

So, everyone complaining about the stairs sound dense. You know what you are getting when even looking at the MLS. This is a Townhome with 3 levels. So, it is perfect for someone looking for this "Georgetown" look/style. Are there things to be fixed; yes; but the overall aesthetic is pleasing and it's not like its a gut job. Only tweaking is needed. Where do the stairs go from the main floor?? We missed those.

If money were no object or consideration, the owner's suite bathroom could use a remodel. The footprint of it isn't bad and could definitely be re-worked into something more updated and functional. I'm guessing that the location of the plumbing stack and infrastructure dictated that current layout.

I do like a bathtub in the main bedroom but I also need a shower too, hummm Oh and I absolutely do not like spiral staircases especially with it being open like that. No bueno, I probably won’t go up there at all. For that price, they need better kitchen cabinets and that glass floor, while it’s cool, to me that’s wasted space.

The bathrooms look store stock tile, mix matched, tempered glass cheap! The only thing I like is the sunroom. Developers have lost their minds with the pricing of today’s living quarters. Nothing is priced for the average working American anymore.

Not super crazy on how the divided the condos, given this one has no garden space. They could have made that indoor/outdoor room an office on the 3rd level. Given that's isn't a year round space. That would have freed up room to expand the bedroom and bathroom area.

Eyeing this house, looks llike a Victorian TH. Don't know about those kitchen cabinets, though. Why are shelves instead of drawers installed in the base cabinets? The refrigerator looks like an older one; one doesn't usually see this type of refrigerator in updated residential properties. The primary bedroom is decent. But, that B/W primary bathroom is wonky, with that toilet in an backward place that seems uncomfortable for sitting with that counter behind it and that high maintenance jet tub. Love the overall look of the loft, even though all that wood is not my taste.

A tub is a luxury/ time consuming, most people need to get in and get out, way too many steps/ stairs, no parking not conducive for major grocery trips. Probably nice for young people

The outside is pretty, need a bigger yard, stairs is a no for me, maybe when I was younger, balcony is ok, not liking looking into other ppl window, very nice inside, open concept love, kitchen is big enough. The no parking is not a seller for me. So I'm on the fence. If I could put that on my own land.

Respectfully, the price fits for the area, but’s it’s a total Reno for me. Therefore, a price adjustment would need to happen if I was the buyer. I didn’t see parking either. Why would you pay a HOA in Capitol Hill? Someone took a single home and made it into 2 condos.

It's not considered a full bath with just a shower. In my state it would be considered a 3/4 bath. Full bath would have to have a tub. sink and toilet is a half bath/powder room.

Very tight kitchen..cannot open oven door and dishwasher, although good counter space. Wish there was a pantry. For the price, a parking space should be expected. The bedroom closet spaces are too narrow; walk-in is preferred. That bathroom is just odd with no shower, which I'd use more than that tub. Love those bay windows in the 2nd bathroom and the sitting area. Renovate the spiral staircase to make more safe and remove the glass floor. Definitely a 70s feel throughout, yet modern, but updates needed for the bathroom. Could work for a single person or a couple, but no kids whatsoever or seniors who have issues with stairs. HOA, nope. The million dollar property may sit for a while, with these high interest rates.

I would never pay 1.7 million to be that close to other people. I saw another tour of a DC property you did, and it was the same, expensive and right on top of neighbors. Maybe that's the norm in DC. I didn't even see a place to park a car.

Absolutely not for that price for a home I have to share and it's old...Even if you do a gut renovation it's not worth it because of location, no parking etc...Maybe an investor can do something with it 🤷🏽‍♀️

There's a few things about this condo I don't like. It's tight and cramped in the area where you want space, namely the bathrooms & stairs. The price is mostly due to its location, definitely not the condo. I only liked the sun room. So, I wouldn't buy it at any price.

longer. Don't like the metal railings on the stairs. There is also no skirt boards on the stairs, and the half wall in the dining room make this area look like it was air lifted in place. The half wall next to the stove and projecting out into the kitchen for me is the worst feature. I also don't like boxing in the refrigerator. This makes the jitchen look awkward. The layout looks like it was shoe horned in places. You can't fix a small bathroom. I know it's a lot of space and it's in DC, but I couldn't qualify for this price.

It’s not a livable space. Not really designed for a family. Maybe a single person or young couple who doesn’t plan on starting a family or aren’t homebodies. It seems more a space for someone who likes the urban lifestyle and does not plan on spending a lot of time at home. I wonder how much leeway the home owner has to renovate the home to make it more livable. Also in terms of styling, the house reflects about 3 different design aesthetics. Not cohesive at all.

The flooring is horrible. It's cheap and any water causes the finish to peel and buckle. Also the workmanship in the remodel is poor

Everything is just so cheap and chintzy, starting with the inexpensive wood used on the entry stairs and the cheap door on the entry closet. None of the doors fits neatly: maddening to live with that. And the tacky chandeliers highlight the whole cheap effect.
