“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

After watching and reading almost all these harsh comments: Most people are shocked because this video doesn't show any crazy skill, the materials don't appear to be any higher quality than what the rest of us use, and the one freehand attempt was poorly executed and never corrected. You've spoiled us with your other videos because we've seen you guys do some really innovative stuff and this just wasn't the right caliber of design for such a clickbaity video title. Different title and there would be NO outrage, guaranteed. I get the feeling that you guys don't really care about the criticism but I hope you take these points into consideration for future videos. I think Young nails is a fantastic company as far as products and the two brothers are making vids great but i think the Young nails replies to our comments are not humble they are haughty and sarcastic you put the content out for us to respond to the responses to this video have all been pretty uniform, it's that this time the work and the outcome sucked , Young suck it up let us know you understand and that you all will do better next time but instead you are going hahaha , and as long as it is good at the end don't matter when in fact that contradicts your whole nail school concept because if it were truly ok to apply acrylic how ever you wanted, there in fact would be no business for you think about it!!!!

And be shaky about it. Sorry but I dont like her attitude x show me what you do then I believe you. If you know what you are doing you will never say that. I thought the final result was crazy good! A really tight finish, no bubbles despite glitter being notorious for bubbles, beautiful shape that looks thin and petite but strong. People just aren't seeing the skill that went into these! Also, you guys are like tippy top professionals. People pay for your brand. A lot has gone into this price! You definitely aren't the local cheap $30 a set hometown shop lol! 💝 hope the criticism didn't get anyone too down. I'd pay $200 to get this same set done by y'all specifically. Because I'd be getting a demo! As a nail tech in training, I need all the demos and help I can get 😍

Cardi B nail artist charges $800 plus for gluing on a bunch of swarovski crystals. Other people went to her and showed how after a couple days the crystals popped off and the nails broke Her work is trash in my opinion it's just the bling appeal and the fact that she does Cardi nails that people pay up. Tracey does beautiful work! I dont think $150 is outrageous. Every nail is like a small canvas of art and you are also paying for her years of experience and good quality nails that last

I really confused ... but my experience as a beginner who makes his own nails... price is about the time and dedication I put on my design to be happy with my nails... However, if you are a skill technician I suppose price is about the time you have to lose (clients) to get a certain design done... mmm I wouldn't pay $150 for those nails but still beautiful, if someone can and want to afford it... good for the technician 🙈
@youngnailsinc

Exactly, the price is the price and clients are aware prior to the set being done so there is no surprises and they are okay with it. If not adjustments can be made to the design to accommodate their budget

I would have flipped my top for that. I think it is too much and I personally didn’t like it. It was too much going on. BUT I do get your point (the more you add the more you pay) I was worried about clients complaining because shops charge $5 more for additional whatever (designs) I start with a flat ($45) price including 2 nails designed. Then $5 for additional. I would love to be that Great and make money like that. #Goals

After doing A LOT of thinking I decided to charge for extras based on the time I spend for them.... Meaning I start the timer when I do something that isn't in a standard procedure (reverse french glitter painting etc) and I stop the timer before applying the top coat (because top coat belongs to a standard procedure) and then I charge per minute that which I earn per minute when I do normal things so basically applying glitter on 2 nails would probably only cost about 2 bucks since i do it in less than 2minutes. I agree on that length I would add about 10 bucks for the extra materials and filing time. Although doing such long nails I recommend using some straight forward tips because it is easier to get an even shape without having to file for a long time. I know people are rude here but that's just because they don't understand the pricing and the point you are trying to make... Which is to encourage techs to charge for extras... Maybe not as much as you would but at least start somewhere

Superior Place Great point. I don’t think anyone here disputes the thesis of the video, that’s why we all clicked on it. The reaction that you are referring to is the lack of execution in combination with the disappointment in her unprofessionalism when applying the product techniques. Believe me all of us wants to justify charging our clients $150 for a full set but the visual didn’t meet the intent. Yes. I think it’s not her usual work but definitely not worth $150
@superior.beauty
@superior.beauty 4 жыл бұрын
@@ShaquitaBriellard I know what U mean I also thought to myself girl those forms aren't straight... There's absolutely too many beads going on and a lot of unnecessary filing afterwards but maybe she just had a bad day we all have those 🙈 even after 10years in the nail industry I still have days where I do stupid things and if this was a real life client situation I would probably charge less if I was aware my performance wasn't on point.

But it's not fair to bash on her... You all didn't even notice when Greg was showing the real Ballerina shape tutorial that he actually overfiled the sides of the nail and that the lower arch wasn't looking right.... The comment section was like "yeah greg you showed themc" this is how it's done "you rule etc.... When actually that also wasn't perfectly done and I saw the mistakes.... And a nail school teacher should do better at least on the camera sometimes the comment section aren't really being fair :)

LA is a different world, however to your point many techs that have been through our courses that live in very rural areas charging similar pricing. Even if the base pricing is lower the goal here is to get techs to realize we need to be charging for all additional items like product and art.

YoungNailsInc absolutely. I remember way back in the 90's when I first started getting my nails done (then I had to drive over an hour to find a nail salon) I'd get my French manicure and for prom or homecoming I wanted little "diamonds " added. It was $5 extra just to have my French tips airbrushed on then it was $5 per tiny stone. An extra $50 for one rhinestone on each nail (a full set cost $20 then) was MAJOR but I did spend it. So that's my long winded way of saying yes, you are right. You must charge for the extras. It is a business. If I want extra cheese at burger king they don't feel guilty charging me for it:)

What's great about this type of set is where the innitial cost may be high this is something that can be kept up and added to for 2 maybe even 3 appts so the first full set price is really an investment. Honestly we have some mentors right here in Anaheim charging even more on a regular basis, all relative and of course if a client is on a budget there can be adjustments made on the set to accommodate.

I liked the set! I'm a tech I pay rent Insurance and buy quality products as I use them on myself as well. I could never charge that much clients wouldn't pay. Having said that it depends on where you are and if the clients in your area value your talent. I feel nail techs in the last 20 years are undervalued since the opening of corner nail shops.I keep myself relevant by updating my education regularly. People still think it's a hobby "I mean you just do nails and play with polsh no biggy right" I've struggled with clients and pricing for years. Thank you Tracy for being real in this video and others I for one appreciate it! 💜💅

I am not a professional nail artist but I have been doing my own nails for over 30 years. The young lady in the video does very nice nails and she does them super fast in addition to having cameras on her while explaining what she is doing. There's not one of you rude commenting people who could take her place! You all should be ashamed of yourselves for all the rudeness you've shown! Didn't your parents teach any of you manners? And/ or if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all? Salon prices are subject to the individual salon and/ or nail tech. If you want to pay for it you will otherwise you are welcome to go elsewhere. I know in NYC there are places that would charge twice what she's asking, and they'll have the nerve to make you wait or cancel your appointment if you're 5 minutes late!

Well yeah, you buy what you like and only you use it. As a nail tech we buy a lot of different glitters, colors, and art. We buy bulk in files, buffers, gallons of acetone, alcohol, ECT. We work in a salon and pay the rent and utilities, the permits, and we'll everything. For us nail techs it's expensive, so we charge what we charge. You don't have that financial burden to run a business it's just you doing your nails at home. Just understand why we charge what we charge in a salon setting.

If you’re broke just say so 🥴. But forreal tho, products aren’t cheap. Swarovski’s aren’t cheap. Time isn’t cheap either. A beautiful set like this would definitely be worth $100+. If you’re not a nail tech you wouldn’t understand. Before actually wanting to spend that amount, make sure you know what KIND of products your nail tech is using. Cheap products = cheaper services (could be illegal products that could potentially harm your nails!). Please keep that in mind everybody... have a blessed day ! 💕
