Thank you for sharing, very interesting! I've worked as a statistician in the healthcare & insurance field for 20 years and it can still be a frustrating experience. Many of my past employers assumed data scientist/statistician/sql programmer/data analyst are the same thing so you spend most of your time collecting and cleaning data. Many of my supervisors are not data science experts - I don't think they really know what statisticians do!

19:34 wow. She jumped right into Data Science pretty much. I’m going for my bachelors in Astrophysics w/minor in CS. I’ll be done in about 3 years. I’m also taking the Google Data Analytics course. Hopefully by then I will have learned Jupiter, Python, and machine learning to get a leg up.

@@carti8778 a double major? That’s pushing it. I’m 41 at the time of this writing. It’s a lot with just Astrophysics with work and all. I will heavily take your suggestion into consideration.

@@AndreTJones if i were you , i would do like this :: major in cs with minor in physics . Astrophysics/physics is interesting but it doesn’t help with employment opportunities. Yes , one does learn critical thinking , programming etc doing physics but why not do it directly and study CS .

@@carti8778 I was just talking to my ex who went through a Ph.D. program. My ex mentioned that double majoring might not be as bad as I thought. There may be a lot of commonalities between the two fields. I have some time to work things out. I appreciate your suggestions immensely. Thanks.
