Very interesting. Understandably, a lot of the YT videos on pro mist filters focus on video and, for those that do focus on still photography, not many concentrate on landscapes. So, for me, this was really useful. I shoot MF film and MF digital and, even at medium format, the digital sensor doesn't quite "smooth" the highlights as well as film, so I've thought about one of these filters for a while. Another tip I've used for controlling flare is to take a second shot in which you shield the lens from the light-source with your hand or a card, even if that means the card encroaches into the frame, then combine the two images in post processing. So the (typically upper) part of the image without the card showing is combined with the (typically lower) part where the flare is absent. Done carefully this can also serve as "exposure bracketing" to balance foreground and sky if you take the "shielded" shot at higher exposure.

Thanks for your kind words Mark. I really like the pro mist filter, especially for sunrise and sunset shots. I love it too regarding flare and will try that next time I’m out and about. Flare can sometimes add to an image but often is a distraction (and I’m prone to deleting those with too much flare)
