What does Advaita mean?

Amongst the six schools of Indian philosophy, Advaita Vedanta arguably holds the most prominent place. Advaita in a Sanskrit word that means non-dual. Why is the word non-dual used? What does it signify? In today's video, Dr Jankiji explains.

☺️🙏 Ref all activities and worship in dwaita Bhavana or in duality- this is not true. Some of it is also with dwesh Bhavana or otherness or hatred. Some is in dwaita or duality. But there is a very small section in advaita bhavana too. Those who work or worship for the sake of Self Realisation or moksha or Enlightenment are considered to be in advaita bhavana. After Enlightenment, also work continues. This is the ultimate in advaita bhavana.

The concept of one has no meaning without the concept of two. Our intellect can only think in terms of dualities. Short means not tall. Light means not dark. And suchlike. So the concept of 'one' assumes a concept of 'two'. But the Self is beyond the dualities.

That's correct except it's not humans alone. Everything, every creature. It is all God or the Transcendental Reality. There is no 'two'. All is One.
