They say to put a drop or two of purple alchohol ink in the resin when mixing stios all yellowing and wont affect the clarity or change the color, maybe something you can experiment with. Because no matter what all resin/epoxy will yellow over time. Hope it helps 🙏 your work is soo beautiful. God bless 😊

Really amazing Do you use fresh flowers or dried flowers?
@marinamakesart9 ай бұрын
Flowers must be dried before placing in resin ❤️

New to all this, if I may ask, as the piece ages would polishing the piece help "restore" some of the shine or smoothness of the resin?
@marinamakesart7 ай бұрын
Yes ❤️ polishing is the best way to restore shine. Here’s a video on how I polish my resin pieces: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6rZYXmsmtpqgqM

Have you tried Jdiction and Let's Resin? They don't yellow.

I am a resin artist and my pieces from 2 yrs ago still look amazing.

I’ve never heard of Jdiction but a few people have told me good things about Let’s Resin. Do you have experience casting flower blocks as well?
@FlowingArtwithAmy9 ай бұрын
@marinamakesart I do not but know many who have using both brands
@dottieb28627 ай бұрын
I use Let’s Resin a lot. I have had a problem lately of it ambering. I made 30 ring holder flower pyramids for a girls luncheon in January. The one I saved for me is already ambering. Still beautiful though! 😉

KS casting resin and Counter Culture DIY.

We used different resins for these items, but mostly KSRESIN or CCDIY as Brandee said

You guys are not only cute but your info is very helpful! I’ve been doing resin for several years and I’ve stayed away from these sentimental pieces because of ambering. Your thought on the sentiment, the work and just having the piece is interesting. I figured that instead of having a “vintage” look, it would be negative for a piece to amber. Is it beyond looking presentable after 15+ years? You probably don’t have a way to know that. Does it ever stop ambering? Thank you both and keep up the good work! Added: I just read the comment about Jdiction and Let’s Resin. Those are my go to resins! I love both of them for what I do! Maybe I’ll do some experimenting with them on the flower blocks and the ones you use!! Thanks again! I’m a new subscriber now!

@@vonnie4781 Hello Vonnie, I appreciate your kind words and feedback. I know that this topic is not commonly talked about, but we love how each piece is so unique. I’m looking forward to hearing about your experience with those resin brands. I have never used those two yet and love experimenting.

Thank you sweet Vonnie! It's hard to say, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. We are hopeful that our clients will still love their pieces decades later. But you're right, we don't know what a piece will look like 15 years later, so our work is quite experimental. Please let us know how Jdiction and Let's Resin works with your flower blocks. We always love to hear from our fellow artists. Sending love! @@vonnie4781

Would you say UV resin ages better than epoxy resin?
@marinamakesart5 ай бұрын
To be completely honest, I'm not so sure if UV resin ages better. I do think it's harder to see the ambering with UV resin pieces since they tend to be much smaller.
