These are truly words to live by. As a perfectionist by nature, it's a struggle to do what Christ (and His Word) says. Whether it's about moral purity or self-discipline, I can't say that I'm an expert. Then again, I never will be. But in Christ I trust to empower me to not only believe but also do His Father's will. And may His blessings and guidance be upon each and every one of us. As Pastor John Ortberg said, "Make it a Golden Rule Day"!

I’m waffling about Become New…in a good way. Sometimes I lament that I cannot tune in on the weekends. I want more! This week the richness, juiciness and appropriateness to me in my season of life is such that each day’s talk begs me to listen, re-listen then roll around with it, pray over it. Each talk was for me a week’s worth of challenge and delight. I will use the weekend to process all of this goodness giving thanks as I do.

Somehow, for me, surrender is easier than rote obedience. I can’t. He can. I think I’ll let him. That includes understanding he is in charge. That said, Gerorge McDonald’s words are so powerful; so compelling. Wow!

@@peggysevre7211”don’t be anxious, just obey these 97 commands to prove you have faith in me or I might say depart from me I never knew you. No pressure.” When your faith is in Jesus for ALL men this is when you begin to think, talk & act like Jesus with ZERO effort. This is when you enter HIS rest. Because you trust in the faithfulness of God towards ALL men, to love them, to forgive them, to save them. NOW that I know & believe the gospel that GOD IS GOOD, I can start loving, forgiving & blessing even my enemies. I can be perfect as my Heavenly Father is perfect. Doing good to all, being merciful & patient, not holding anyone’s sins against them. Freely I have received, freely I give. He who is forgiven much loves much.

Such a simple challenge, yet so hard to trust at times. My next step is acceptance of what I didn’t want to be true. Yet, I can’t heal what I don’t acknowledge is true. Jesus is leading me through this fire, holding my hand; I just have to keep taking the next step forward with Him.

I'm trying to retire and sell my house. I have more or less paralyzed myself by trying to get top dollar for my possessions instead of donating them. Because of the new life "On a fixed income" I've let worry and fear negate the generosity Jesus calls me to. No more. Thank you for this timely message ❤

We are called by Yeshau to put on His yoke and plow the field of our life with Him leading and at the same time making the burden light. The field has boulders of self-centeredness (sin in me), roots of bitterness, and resentment. The field has upgrade hills to overcome. Forgiveness, love, kindness, and gratitude are the tools that our Master offers us to help us remove these seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Yet, as we sow His seeds, He will produce much fruit, and we will rejoice in being the bearers of His fruit through us. Yes, LORD, I want to build my life according to the Father's will. Now pour your SPIRIT, your Truth, your way, your Life into me. For only YOU in me can live the life that pleases the FATHER.

Abraham's faith came first before obedience that righteousness might be by faith, not works. Maybe you were just testing us to see if we're listening. Can you be an atheist and obey Jesus? You cannot deny the Father or the Son. It's a package deal.

“Works” (behavior, lifestyle) is the outward indicator of faith. There is no faith without “works.”
