I am living in a Toyota Sienna hybrid, 400W of solar, 200Ah battery. If I don't run the van's AC/heat, I can run a small portable heater off the batteries. Fuel cost is minimal vs. foods. Phone plan with Visible at $35/month, $32 if you pay a whole year up front. Existing on $500/month, comfortable stationary $1000/month, travel extensively $1500/month. Cross the border to Mexico and the expenses drop significantly, I've lived on $600/month and do not feel deprived.

Only problem with Mexico is that he would get robbed the first week if not the first night for his truck by the cartel. They actively seek out trucks like his for drug running.

Great video! Beautiful camping spot! Extremely informative listing and discussion about costs of living full-time in your truck camper. While I know I am not a candidate for the nomad life (age & health). I kinda live vicariously through you and a few other KZbinrs. There are so many things I wish I’d thought about when I was younger (yacht crewing, van or truck camper living, for example). However, I did a ton of hiking in the US and Canada and lived in a VW Westphalia during summers while hiking beautiful areas, and I owned a nice sailboat. I’m very grateful for the experiences I had and the memories! Anyway, love your videos and am a diehard fan!

Have you budgeted for health care? If you had health care benefits at work, that's great, but when not working you need to get Blue Cross or something. Also check if health care benefits are different in BC than AB. If you go south to the US, make sure you get medical insurance, so research that too, because in the US you'll pay ALL medical expenses you incur, and it can add up really quick and really $$$$$. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I reside in Ontario and want to travel across Canada from coast to coast to coast. I really want to see the Yukon and Alaska as well, in the same sort of get up that you have. I'm sure that these videos will help me plan out on how to approach this journey. I know which truck I will purchase already as i work for the Ford motor Co. and I will get a nice discount on an F350 dually with a diesel motor. Look forward to more videos from you and again....Thank you very much for this content !!

Question, why wet propane heat vs diesel heater dry heat?
@KevinWaldsAdventures3 ай бұрын
common misconception, a propane furnace works exactly the same as a diesel heater but has a more powerful blower. A Buddy heater or wave 3 provide a wet heat because they don't exhaust outside. A Rv furnace exhausts outside just like a diesel heater, both those systems are a forced air heating that basically pushes air over a heat exchanger then out into a area.
@RichardTorresOfficial3 ай бұрын
@@KevinWaldsAdventures Wow 🤯 I had no idea. Thank you so much for providing that information! I thought all propane heat was wet heat. Good to know it’s not true for camper furnaces. I just bought a 2019 lance 650 that comes with a furnace. I also bought a diesel heater thinking I would need to install it. Thank you so much for saving me from all that work!

@KevinWaldsAdventures3 ай бұрын
I always buy used, can save a lot of money getting something with 50000km on it and it will be hassle free for a bit yet, when you get into higher miled vehicles that’s fine too but budget in bigger repairs the 5.9 Cummins is a rock solid motor but I can guarantee after 500000km it is going to want something lol best to pay cash for anything over 250000km and then just budget for repairs. I do most of my own work so I’ve never seen a point in buying new for a warranty that never gets used. Rather save 15000$ on the sticker
