Some ideas based on this video: - A method to upgrade weapon rarity easier in-game. - Duplicate perk schematics upgrade perks permanently in some form but there is a limit to it. - Permanent lower crafting cooldown for every duplicate schematic extracted but there is a limit to it. - Better contract loot pools based on tier (T1, T2, T3, Sigil/Elder Sigil). - More forms of engagement; new contracts, 4/6 player squads, more easter eggs, new modes, new areas to explore. - More stash space per Act completed. - More exciting zombies related rewards for completing story acts or certain challenges (kill 50 megabombs, etc). - Map needs more of a “zombies” atmosphere. (More unique or altered areas, sounds, music, less Warzone map feel) - More use for Rewards stash; One item can be placed into the rewards stash after successful exfil in T1 zone, two items if extracted in T2 zone, etc. (This is done in the lobby after match ends). - Essence banking system, unspent essence is kept when Exfil is successful. Can be accessed in-game at buy stations. - More end-of-game offerings. Currently we have 4 options when timer is low; Exfil, Act 4 Aether, Sigil, Red Worm. (5th/6th option, DC randomly or bleed out). Example end-of-game option: - “Endless” Aether Portal, no time limit, peak power can be attained before or within this area, enemies will progressively get harder the longer you survive. Timer counts up instead of down to keep track of how long you’ve survived. You can leave at any time via portal. I doubt any of this will be added, but we can dream. >.< We need more to keep us playing after all schematics are obtained & story acts are complete. Adding more permanent progression in multiple areas would give everyone a lot more to do.

I'm the same only Easter Eggs I've done are small ones like Der Riese shooting Teddy's, the Ascension one that gave you the Death Machine, I don't knew if it counts but getting the different Bows on Der Eisendrach, and I'd attempted several with almost completing Origins but never could finish the lengthy and challenging ones I'm just not skilled, but I still love to watch videos of it, discussing them, trying to search the maps for things, etc. loved the story, I'd say I'm a hardcore casual, I play when I can and not nearly as much as BO1-3 days but still love the mode and round based, though I actually have enjoyed MW3 for what it is and I'm trying my best to finish all the Acts Solo even though I'm awful at games

For all we know it could lead upto that, you play as your operator in the same tine limit as nornal grinding and prepping and then go to do the final mission which you complete and during the cutscene your operator at the end of whatever season/act mission dies and then one of the story characters takes the gear and items from your loadout in round based zombies with a timer that goes up so you can see how many waves you survived and how long it took you to get that far.

Also, one of the main things I love about this game is that I feel like it's brought a lot of the zombies community so much closer. I love the fact that some of the better players (including myself) can go in and help the not so great players by either helping them beat the harder content in the game or just by dropping things for them that they would probably never get on their own. Not to mention, the fact that some people will go all the way across the map to revive someone that's been downed. I love that the zombies community has been helping each other out so much in this game. For example, I'm in a fb messenger group chat from a mwz fb group and people on there help each other out all the time. I've helped multiple people get their schematics from tiers 4/5 or the red worm. Sometimes I'll just hop in a game and drop a random like a flawless crystal, legendary tool, golden plates, etc. And their reaction is always great. One of my favorite things about zombies is the community itself. So big ups to all the mwz players that have been helping out others in the game!

I think he was saying that each time you get a schematic (after the first time) it drops the cooldown by 10% permanently. After getting the schematic 10 more times, there wouldn't be a cooldown anymore. You can craft it everytime.

With the cooldowns on the schematics, I feel like the cooldown should reset if you exfil with the schematic and you have it already. That would give us a benefit of completing the same objective over and over again.

At first playing solo didn't really feel viable but then after getting used to it and going through the acts unlocking some schematics and finding a consistent weapon I had a great time and did most of the act missions solo. I've only started playing zombies this year with WaW and BO1 when I was going for the trophies and I'd say I had just as much fun on MWZ as a solo player

I agree there should be a proper solo mode but honestly if someone takes your contract or vehicle spending an extra minute or two getting to another one isn't the end of the world. If someone comes into your kill farm it is pretty annoying but just do your best to outkill them and they'll usually get bored and move on. I'd recommend using the spore contract method instead of exfil farming since a lot of people go for the exfils whereas 9/10 times I never had anyone bother me with spores although that might have changed I haven't played in a couple of weeks

I’ve played every map since nacht on Waw, but don’t have the time to master every map or play more than an hour or so every week. I can hold my own but I’m not on the level that’s some of the biggest community streamers are. I’m going to offer a friendly counterpoint to your statement tho. If there’s an obnoxiously long time limit, do you think that would actually work in the long run with the state of the mode as of now? I feel like the timer isn’t as big if an issue as I felt on day one, but more so that every match didn’t feel “crucial”. It would be a setup round or a boss run round, and no in between. I feel like the biggest fix that could be made “tommorow” would be endgame + shit like collecting double schematics would reduce cooldown, or daily/weekly/etc challenges would give you a damage buff or something along those lines. What would you choose, extended timer as the game is now, or more to grind for? 🍻

This is my first Cod I've bought since 2019 and first zombies cod I've played since BO3. I'm about at that 30hr mark and I do enjoy it so far.

The only thing is have to do is get rid of the timer. That solves everything. That gives you time to farm more contracts to get the better wrenches. You get points. You get your camos You get to enjoy your tiered 3 character. We are stuck with the game mode of rushing to get get tier 3 things and we have 3-5 min to enjoy it and that’s not counting if we are going to stay the extra 15 mins of exfil time. I enjoy this game mode but until they do something about that timer. I am going back to Cold War. It has literally open world & round base and doesn’t force me to stop playing.

I feel like giving permanent upgrades as substantial as cooldown reductions on wonder weapons to the point that you can just spawn in with them every game is just pushing the "what do i do now?" problem down the line. They dont necessarily have to be so substantial. People just want to grind things these days. If there was such a thing as simple as "spawn in and complete the main quest while only ever using this specific weapon for permanent unlimited ammo for that weapon forever" youd still be giving players that sense of accomplishment without inevitably giving them the carrot at the end of the stick and taking away any incentive to play the game

The only problem I have with the mode is the CRASHES. Can not stand starting a game fully kitted out only to crash and lose everything and then have to grind for a three plate and large rucksack again. So infuriating when that happens. Only happened twice before season one, and now has happened over ten times. Just sucks.

On the Elden Ring comparison: the way that Elden Ring and soulslikes present challenge is something I had never experienced when I played Black Ops 3 Zombies. Back then, I never even gave a SHOT to the easter eggs because I knew how hard they were. Returning to those maps now, having beaten Elden Ring and several other FromSoft games, I'm actively working towards beating these Easter Eggs. It's interesting how different framing of a challenge completely changes your approach to it.

Some other issues from a middling player (who also loves the game). I bought a bunch of skins for DMZ because having a ton of slots let me rotate through them. With only 3, and only able to switch when you die, makes buying skins feel pointless. Similar with camos. If I infil with a crystal, I don't want to have to go to a PAP just so the PAP camo won't be applied. Since that's what the gun will look like, what's the point of grinding camos? Needs to be a way to never apply PAP camos and switch operators without losing their gear.

What about once you complete all current hard content on this map you will then be granted access to a complete hardcore map. Same map but hardcore. From t1 to t3. Also increasing rng for the loot that is currently extremely rare when completing a contract. Difficulty where a juggernaut will not kill a mega. Where there’s no soloing red worm. Also, when new content is added you must complete it first before having access to it in hardcore. Maybe you start with tier 2 difficulty in tier 1, tier 3 difficulty in tier 2, elder sigil difficulty in tier 3. Just a thought I had.

I really like noahs idea of extracting with duplicates counting towards permanent cool down reduction, Maybe as a side benefit, completing tier 3,4,5 contracts faster can increase your percentage for good loot or lockout some lower loot like a blue tool. So getting good and optimizing each element will actually have an effect, like it would for a older style easter egg

I really, really enjoyed the story line of the new characters and while I didn’t get to play Ancient Evil, I fell in love with the map and lore watching you and Noah play it. I hated IW zombies when it came out but now I really enjoy a few of the maps. I would def like to get around to playing all the BO4 maps and then try Cold War to get caught up. But more than anything I miss Primis and that amazing story line and lore that was built over a decade. I’m really sad to see it gone and only hope we get more Dark Aether story with Sam and Eddie. The problem with MWZ is the exact same problem I had with DMZ last year, there’s just no point to it. EE and boss stuff aside, you jump in, grab what you can, extract with some goodies to take into your next game… to… do the same thing again? The whole gameplay loop is dropping in, looting stuff, and leaving. Now that we’ve completed the acts and collected all the schematics, it just feels pointless.

Around the 10 minute mark you mention the possibility of a content drought for mw3 zombies but I think it's different for casual gamers not able to grind out all the story missions right away like youtubers and other content creators do. It is also difficult like Noah said to get that far for the casual gamer. Most people don't have the full camo set of even completed the zombie story missions at this point.

The game itself is a lot fun. The constant crashes and disconnects and the way you get penalties for things that aren't your fault are simply a joke. It also makes people start glitching if the only reliable way of getting some gear is the tombstone since you will crash every time you've found something nice you don't get to extract with.

We need a progression system for character and perk buffs. DMZ brought in the upgrade system around Season 5 with various challenges for different buffs, it would work really well in Zombies. Like Cold War had the upgrades for perks and field upgrades, they could literally do the exact same buffs behind different passive missions that maybe require extracting specific items, completing contracts, using the perks (e.g get 10,000 critical kills with Deadshot Daiquiri for 10% increased critical damage with Deadshot), killing X amount of specials/elites/bosses and such. Amongst other things, upgrading your default rarity, increasing armor plate damage resistance, increased contract payouts, discounts on perks and packapunch. Something like that would keep me interested, after getting all the schematics and missions done, Borealis too. I've had to start doing the Zombies Weapon Mastery Grind that requires 300 kills with Golden Enigma equipped, 600 with Zircon Scale, 900 with Serpentinite and 1200 with Borealis. And I only have about 20 weapons to do with Borealis before that's complete. There just needs to be a steady flow of content. Adding 1 mission for Season 1 was such a bad call, I was hoping for a full act, not just Act 4 being 1 story mission. Hopefully they have something good in their hand for the mid season and they just haven't shown the card. Because adding a single Warlord just isn't going to quench my thirst for an entire month

Random idea. Maybe if we complete a certain contract it begins an optional chain of other contracts where it’s like “good job destroying all those spores!… *rumbling* wait…. Something’s happening” and an HVT marker pops up that’s a different color (maybe orange instead of blue to signify higher difficulty and higher point rewards) and whether it’s in tier 1 or 2 it’s a tier 2 difficulty level contract and it is guaranteed to drop more loot. And then maybe after that a tier 3 buffed contract pops up and it’s guaranteed to drop a ray gun or scortcher or legendary aether tool.

It would be cool if you'd earn more points per zombie if you're solo. I would also love for other ways to progress abilities/strengths for folks like me that aren't great at the game, such as earning crystals (or whatever) when successfully exfilling like in Cold War that would let you buy schematics or something after you have enough crystals. In Cold War, it took me a while to get good enough to earn refined and flawless crystals, but being able to get the fairly easy raw crystals let me get strong enough that it was fun to push myself to try for the others. Right now, the Tier 2 zone is still a big challenge for me because I have almost no schematics (after a month) and I'm not fast enough to get strong before it's almost time to leave. I did mention that I'm not great at this. :)

And if people don't know you may be able to glitches into war zone 1 lobby but it will not load the servers are completely down 4 maps they had and you can't play any of them anymore, bo4 was a flop but still has players and you can play both blackout warzone 0.5 for people who don't know) maps still with zombies around the map. Mwz definitely way exceeded my expectations. I expected it to be pretty bad to be honest, but now I play it pretty much every night. Just keep grinding and filling my stash with legendary tools, flawless crystals, Goldens plates, and dog bones, while helping others get their schematics. Even though there's not much to do in the game once you get all the schematics, aside from camos and chchallenges, it's still pretty fun just to play and grind for stuff.

imagine if there was not a time limit but instead a timer to see how long you survived, and the tier 3 zone grew to take over the whole map after lets say 30 mins. Then after taking the whole map the it becomes tier 4 and the games ends when there is one team remaining and they get a random high tier reward at the end plus everything they have in their backpack I feel like that would be more fun.

I think a good idea would be an alternate exfil that doesnt you change your loadout or anything but lets you continue to another match with what you have. Maybe it could give a brief time period to deposit stuff into your stash but would force you right into another game rather than a regular exfil taking you to the lobby

Having finally been able to play the new zombies mode (because of the free weekend) I will say that I ended up hating the one hour timer more than I originally though I would. The timer seems to go by so fast when you get in match that you can’t get lost in the game and explore everything and do as many contracts that you want like you were able to do in outbreak. The way that I view the timer was just them pushing the narrative of the new zombies mode being the “most replayed zombies experience ever” when in reality that’s only the case because they kind of force you to keep loading out and loading back in just to keep playing.

So obvious that these guys were not playing DMZ. DMZ started out just like this. Huge cooldowns. No upgrades etc. as the seasons went on, they added upgrades to just about every aspect of the game and the ability to lower cooldowns and the ability to modify your gun in game. All of this will be added as "new content". Why would they give you everything right from the beginning? They wouldn't have anything to say is " we content". So. It's all coming. Including, bundles that you will pay for to cooldown stuff as well. You just know they will do that.

Ive got and done everything as a solo and ive had alo of fun but i started getting bored and started going in asking in the chat if anyone needs anything or needs help doing anything and that has gave me alot of fun hours. Met a few ppl that was there first time in this zombies on the first mission and showed them how i grinded everythingwhich gave me fun in the game. Thats starting to get boring too though lol

Yeah with the whole operators I feel like like what Noah said is close to what I was thinking. Once you play the let's make a storyline based around four characters operators whatever and then like after he said after you beaten the Easter egg or got into a certain amount of challenges or something in the game objective, then you can play as whatever character you want to buy

I think it would be better if the storm started from outside and erased the easy zone first, then gave another 15 minutes to farm the second zone, then it filled the second zone and gave you another 15 minutes to farm the third zone pushing everyone towards the middle of the map for exfill.

Top 3 changes that need to be implemented IMO 1. No more timer, let me explore and experience “the biggest zombies experience ever” By the time I’m set up and ready to have fun it’s time to leave. 2. Private match/lobby. Fixes the crashing, negative interactions with randoms 3. Better loot, too many times I’ve gotten a green wrench and dead wire (example) from a tier 2 contract. Tier 3 is honestly the same. Killing the megabomb then getting 1 pack a punch I crystal just isn’t enough x

I Think a "versus" contract where you compete against another squad would be fun, maybe who could kill their respective hvt faster or something, and also just more events on the map, like storm caller is really the only one aside from the worm and you have 45minutes to wait for the worm, so theres no reason there couldnt be more.

Doubletap would fix this game especially for solo players , tier 3 is way too difficult with 2-3 day cool downs after 1 single good game with all of your stuff lol . The time limit is way too short for not starting with crystals but then again the dang cool downs man ..

Why not bring back something similar to the tooth system upgrade and relics from extinction? This took a while to grind, and it was very rewarding, you had to play on a harder difficulty and handicap yourself to get more of them

Being OP is super fun to me. I don't mind a challenge, but when it's so hard I can't even beat it, that's no fun. So yeah, I love the fact that I can load in with a legendary triple packed weapon and golden armor plates and a Tier 3 dog. I didn't start really enjoying the game until I started to get the good schematics and stuff. Being underpowered is just no fun.

39:19 I’ve gotten 5 legendary tools and 3 of them were in the same match during week 1 of launch, with 2 being in the same random chest. The other two I got since season 1. I’ve also only ever gotten one flawless crystal from random reward rifts

My main issue with MWZ is that at the moment, my main draw to play the mode is grinding out the zombies camos. I just finished unlocking Bioluminescent on the MWII guns and am starting to work toward Borealis. But, once I get those camos, I personally don't have much reason to keep playing the mode. I generally play solo, so doing higher tier stuff, like anything in the Dark Aether, is tough for me (I haven't even beaten the Act 4 mission yet) and I don't really enjoy just mindlessly grinding contracts. Idk, the mode just doesn't have any long term draw for me I guess. It's not something I can just hop on and play, I need to have some type of goal in mind whenever I load into a match.

Grinding zombies camos is a reward you can strive toward as you play the mode, so saying you aren't 'playing the mode' when you're unlocking camos is the most asnine shit ever. And who's to say I'm not doing other things while also grinding camos? Because guess what, I am. The entire time I was unlocking Bioluminescent, I was completing story missions and doing contracts, I wasn't just grinding camos. And guess what, outside of grinding camos, I wasn't having any fun because to me, MWZ is boring as piss for solo players. The rewards you get for completing contracts, even in Tier 3, are complete and utter garbage. Outside of unlocking schematics, and maybe better loot if you're extremely lucky, there's fucking nothing to do in the mode. I'm sorry, but loading into a match and mindlessly doing contracts for an hour, just to earn a few blue wrenches and maybe a tier 1 PaP crystal is immensely unfun.

Upon all the great ideas you both had in this podcast, I had a wild thought while you were discussing the tiers of zombies and contracts just being yoinked and you're suffering with nothing. I had this thought of, what if we're able to choose the tier we spawn in match? Because let's face it, nobody chills in T1, if they are they're camo grinding or something, Id love to be able to spawn in a WHOLE T2+ zone so that the WHOLE map is t2 or 3 so we'd all have an extensive amount of contracts etc

With the hour timer, what if at each exfil, you can vote, to rejoin matchmaking, and it let's you load into another match with your current gear, that way it doesn't mess with queue times and they don't have to get rid of the timer

I do agree with Noah a good balance would be to bring back real characters as the default with Operators as an option, but sadly I am 90% sure that's over for good I think it's very slim chances we get to play as Characters it'll just be squads of Ed Sheeran and Thunder Cats or whatever weird collabs come in the future. Also it's funny that Noah mentioned that he revived a Squad from a Disciple recently and they were amazed at how fast he killed it, because that literally happened to me a week ago I was struggling to complete a Disciple Bounty got downed, my Nephew who was in a duo with me went down too and then this squad rolled up revived us and just melted it and I just stood their like "These people are Gods!" Because we'd spent at least 5 minutes trying to kill it with no luck, I ran out of ammo in both my guns and almost had it down then went to the box nearby grabbed a gun and used my crystal to PaP it and was nearly out of ammo again when I went down, and then after that Squad saved us they invited us to join and though I usually don't join randoms I did this time, they saw I needed a Mangler Big Bounty still so with 5 minutes left before the storm moved they went around doing bounties until they completed it for me and I did none of the work and I am still amazed at how good they were because I'm horrible at games

they should make another tier called “purgatory” where you spawn in and you just fight endless hordes that gradually get harder and see how long you last instead of round based. Side note you won’t be able to use kill streaks either to make challenging

Great job on the "interview" great insight and points raised. Personally didn't buy the game and downloaded the free trial to determine whether it was worth getting. Playing solo is more my thing too so holding out too much hope. I understand the idea of the mode change and see where and why its liked by many but for me it has no staying power for the fans of the original mode. I jumped on with some friends and "squaded up" during about 4 hours of playing, i found that there is no real point to doing anything as the setting up takes forever and there is too much to have to worry about when loading in. I had a game where i didn't really do anything relating to the contracts and get the rewards anyway as the team completes them. Having such a large map just feels to me like you spend so much time running/traveling across the world rather than engaging.

He biggest issue with what you are proposing about the permanent upgrade incentives is that if they give it to you for free they can’t monetize it. We are already starting to see the bundles that have exclusive zombies upgrades like rare tools.

Solution. Adding one or two areas in the map that you can stay after the time ends to try and survive as long as possible. And once the time ends and you are in those areas. The time will count up and zombies, elite’s and dogs become stronger every five minutes until you die.

this is my stance on mw3 zombies... I love it, open world being able to join different squads. im a old school zombies player i like going into a game and getting wonder weapon in every game or hells redeemer! but the cool down times are terrible. i think the timer should be increased and when the timer does go out i think each zone should increase in difficulty.

It would be cool if you already have an acquisition like speed cola, it would give speed cola a temp boost that would have a timer before it resets, and if you keep getting the acquisitions it'll make the cola stronger.

I really like zombies my only 2 issues no 3 issues are 1.time limit isn't long enough, 2. cooldown on schematics are far too long no way should I struggle to get the schematics ( aether blade) use it for one game and then it have a 2 day cooldown before I can play with it again thats the biggest issue I think. Lastly losing connection before even getting off the helicopter and losing all my gear especially when I have aether blade in bag and then have to wait another 2 days. Other then those issues I love modern warfare zombies

The big problem with solo I think is if you do hop in with randoms it's a pain to understand what there doing. Like usual hoping into a map u can tell oh these guys want to go do the ee or just set up and survive but in mw its like oh what are they doing, just farming contracts again oh fair .... so will they help me with this mission or objective Will they bother res me if I'm far away because i die before finding a self res and have to wait an hour to get my gun back. Idk what exactly is missing but I feel like it's fun to grind some camos and when I die go level a gun in my and come back and that's my gameplay loop so far

When you fiinish the contracts and get the schematics there is literally no reason to play. in round based you can go in and do high rounds. You can't even build up a stash since you can't hold anything.
