Thank you. Been looking for this. Also, the cylinder wear and cam and roller follower wear, normal range roughly, would be future video ideas if I might appreciatively suggest.

What does a bad/good wrist pin joint feel like? Is some side to side motion okay vs obvious slack when pulling in and out on the rod while holding piston still?
@Motorcarnut

The wrist pin should slide in the connecting rod bushing with hardly any resistance but absolutely no play anywhere

My 2012 Camry, AFRE 4 cyl, 2.5 is burning oil. No smoke at startup or while driving. No puddle or drips underneath, left white cardboard underneath it overnight. I'm topping it off at least every 2 to 3 weeks. Routine oil changes at 5k, 0-20 mobil 1. Has 219k miles. Would pcv cause this, oil rings? Runs good, thanks!

Yes, PCV can cause that along with worn valve stem seals and piston rings. You can try changing the oil and PCV and put some "NO SMOKE" additive that may help your problem a good deal.

Thanks. I understand there's some thin coating on the cylinder walls that eventually wears off. That worn piston obviously damaged the wall it was in. Are you going to hone the walls or gonna replace the block? What are you going to do specifically for this engine repair?

Good question! , I am going to hone all the cylinders as they were slightly scuffed but still in spec

@@Motorcarnut Ohk. I've been honing them forever without any issues but I've been concerned about the thin coating. I guess it is just an addon for less friction i.e. less fuel consumption.
