Thank you so much for the information. I feel men also tend to ignore these issues. I know I have.

Dealing with this again. My inner thigh on stretches are beyond tight and the left will spasm. First jog in months maybe I should just walk and bike? Getting back to yoga that I have neglected.

Find the why behind this. Where are you at?

So I'm currently a pro French horn player, meaning that I mainly use the diaphragm for my breathing techniques. The rest of my core muscles have been totally left on the side throughout my musical formation (nearly 20 years, I'm currently 30yo), and thus are in an atrophied state. Therefore, any slightest contraction of the core muscles (in the bathroom for example) also blocks my lungs. Same whenever I have to be in prone position. I'm not too much overweight, but I admit that my slight belly fat somewhat hinders my lungs capacities. There's another possibility as to why I have this complex issue: I almost died on my birth (nearly drowned in the fetal waters), and immediately put into an incubator with a tube in my trachea to extract the deep hidden fetal liquid. Afterwards, my mom's pediatricians told her that I should never be in any prone or sideway position while sleeping. Nowadays I sleep fine on the sides, but I never sleep face down and rack up. Even something as simple as a kneeling plank is excruciatingly painful for my lungs and core area.

In my opinion the Body alone is not the Answer. To much muscle tension in the Pelvis can be a result of the Nervous system. Both sides are very important... The Body and the Mind. Thanks for your Work.

Hi, I have these issues and I noticed that when I exercise I have the tendency of engaging the lower glutes area that you mentioned. That area is often painful. What do you think it’s the best solution for this? As far as I understand we should learn to engage the upper part of the glutes instead, correct?

dysfunctional movement patterns cause issues. I would not say involve upper part of glut. You should be assessed. Look for a DC or PT that focuses on pelvis stability as well
