In your videos you say first draw the penis inwards then stop flow of urine. Isn’t stopping the flow of urine the same as pulling the penis inward? I’m trying to see if I’m doing that correctly. I can squeeze my muscle that stops the urine and my anus but am I sucking the penis inward right?

Michelle, this is so helpful, transforming. I'm a younger guy but I was suffering from whole array of issues men face from a weak pelvic floor, watched a few videos by fitness instructors but they were dodgy and didn't feel the result, but watching your instructions it not only makes sense, but I can feel everything and know what I am doing and I feel, I will now never forget what I learned as I can feel them and will continue to practice them regularly. This will change my life, thanks so much :-)

Michelle, I can't thank you enough for this particular video. I am 14 years past my prostate surgery at age 60 and the leakage problem just kept gradually becoming worse, even with doing a routine at the gym on the treadmill. Using the time elapsed clock I would clench for 1 minute then relax for 1 minute, then keep repeating that routine for 30 to 40 minutes. It just didn't seem to help much and I had gotten up to soiling 2 to 3 pads during the day. After doing your routine above for one month I am in so much better shape, going through just one pad during the day & one pad at night. Also the routine is so quick & easy I find myself doing it as I drive to the golf course every other day. Again, I can't thank you enough. You have lifted my spirits greatly!

@Wayne Shattuck Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm thrilled to hear that the daily Kegel workout has been so helpful for you in managing urinary leakage after prostate surgery. It's great to hear that you've noticed a significant improvement after just one month of following the routine, and that it's easy enough to incorporate into your daily activities. Keep up the great work! 🙏 💖

Hi Michelle I enjoyed your video, 2 years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had my prostate removed, 6 months later my PSA went back up and I had had to go for 35 radiation treatments and hormone injections every 6 months at that time I got depressed and stopped my Kegels, my doctors office staff taught me how to do Kegels but only to hold 5 seconds and relax for 5 seconds 3 times a day but never said anything about short Kegels, after watching you video I became inspired and now am doing my Kegels again thanks for the inspiration Gary

Hi Gary thanks so much for sharing, this helps others in a similar situation. You can work at increasing the length and strength of your Kegels and yes include the fast ones too. You might also benefit from watching this video too I hope it helps. The great news is that if you can contract, your muscles are working and therefore have the potential to strengthen further. @Michelle Kenway I did have one question. When you say that men should do slow, rhythmic kegels during intimacy, what periodicity do you recommend? 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off feels natural, but 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off is difficult to sustain.
@michellephysio
@michellephysio Жыл бұрын
@Daniel Great question! There is no scientific evidence on this yet unfortunately. In view of this do what you feel capable of doing. I suspect that with practice of your Kegels your ability to maintain a contraction during intimacy will increase in duration too and you may find it helpful to contract for longer when you’re able to. I hope this helps 🙏

It took physical therapy for me to be able to identify the correct muscles. Hello Michelle, I just wish to thank you for the way you put yourself across with these kegal videos. Your very calm and encouraging. I've just just recently started having too many toilet visits and I'm hoping it's simply a case of strengthening my pelvic floor muscles. Here goes day 1
@SCORPIOUS1974

Hi Michelle, I’ve recently subscribed to your channel and have begun doing kegel exercises for men. I have watched the 'Kegel for beginners' so know what technique I should apply and have also watched the 'real time daily kegel workout' and 'maximize kegel strength gains for men'; and this is where I could do with some clarification. I understand that kegel exercises should be performed daily or most days of the week, depending on what you can handle. But particularly the 'real time daily kegel workout' and how to 'maximize kegel strength gains for men' I hope you can help me with: On the 'real time daily kegel workout' you state that you should be aiming do 3 to 6 exercises on your training days and that you try and do this 3 or 4 days a week. But also, on the 'maximize kegel strength gains for men', you should be doing 2 sets per day, 2 to 3 days a week. I’m just trying to work out the best way of incorporating both exercises in one week. So for example is it best to stick with doing the 'real time daily kegel' workout, say, one day, and doing the 'maximize kegel strength gains for men', another day? Can you mix up doing both types on one day or should I stick with only doing one type of exercise a day? I believe personally it’s probably best to stick with doing one type a day but if you could please clarify that would be great. I suppose, for example, between Monday to Friday, I could do the 'real time daily kegel workout' . And on Saturday and Sunday, do the 'maximize kegel strength gains for men'. Would that be appropriate, as an example? Just want to make sure I’m getting this right and not doing these exercises in a way that is counter-productive. Appreciate any (fair dinkum!) advice you can give me. Cheers!

So it's been a good year. For those who might read this; the honest truth I have been slacking off on my exercises. However, turns out I don't have an enlarged prostate, but my bladder is very sensitive and I'll get strong urges to pee every few hours. After finding this video again and going through the process I can feel a big difference after just one attempt; my bladder isn't constantly bothering me and I can sleep peacefully at night without worrying about wetting the bed. As I stated before I'm trying to avoid doctors and prescription medication; that'll just make it worse for me in the future. It's been about 2 months since I found this video again. I may not have been able to do multiple kegel sessions daily, but every now and then I'm doing my best to hop on this video and I can feel much comfort with my bladder settling down.

Michelle - Great videos. I had a prostatectomy 3 weeks ago and have been following your guidelines for the past week. Questions: 1. Other sources recommend daily kegels but you suggest 4 workout days/week? How important is it to have a day off? 2. Do mini crunches simultaneous with the kegel help with strengthening? 5 reps in 3 directions/3 sets- 3x/day is recommended on another youtube video. Any thoughts on adding resistance besides doing them standing up? Thank you for the service you provide. I love the real time training vids.
@michellephysio
@michellephysio 3 жыл бұрын
@jcdunn2004 my sincere apologies for the delayed reply (pre Xmas chaos) 1.Aim to do exercises daily if you can manage 2. Avoid crunches, they increase pressure within the belly creating downward force in the pelvic floor which works against your strengthening efforts 3. Here are the most recent recommendations for training volume for prostatectomy- it seems more training volume pre and post op is optimal see here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGSkgZ2toNacabM all the best for your recovery jc 🙏

Hi Michelle, Thanks for these exercises. I came out from prostate surgery 5 weeks ago & only got a brief pamphlet from the NHS after several phone calls. The leaflet has little detail & only includes 2 of the 3 elements you mention. I am so glad I found your site as I am still leaking quite badly & this is affecting my life style as well as my well being. I will stick with the programme & hope for an improvement. Regards, Glyn.

This works. I have been practicing to this video for 29 days on the schedule of 3-6x/training day as recommended by Michelle. I am already seeing results within the context of sexual response and function. My preferred position to practice kegals is supine. It seems easier to do in supine. I also practice sitting upright sometimes. Kegals are challenging to do and does not always feel comfortable to practice whilst sitting upright, it feels more challenging that way because of gravity. I have to remember not to put any ego into it, just try my best and work with what I got for the time being. Now I wonder if I've been suffering from weak pelvic floor muscles this entire time. Mind blown. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, Michelle!

And the realtime encouragement REALLY helps, more than I would have imagined; it adds a dimension I think a lot of Yt vids on this type of thing tend to lack. Hello Michelle...checking in from Houston, Texas to give a progress report. I've consistently practiced these kegel exercises for since my first post. I will say that I have gotten tangible results and I'm really pleased with this. I definitely don't get up in the middle of the night as many times as I did before. Once a night is a big improvement over what I was doing before. In regards to stronger erection during sleeping hours, this does occur from time to time. Although it isn't as it was twenty years ago, it's much better than it was before I began your routine. I modified the routine in order to do 3 rounds in one session and I've maintained the routine for at least 4 days a week from the beginning. I'll check back hopefully in January for a progress report...a million thanks to you!
