An update should be made. Thomas Keller is gone, as are other dining options. Dress code is elegant casual most of the time. WiFi is likely included. Thank you for updating them.

The wake facing area is about the only area on the ship that allows pipe smoking. This is always odd because they allow cig smokers a spot near the pool area. I understand limiting cigar smokers ‘there’ but most people enjoy second hand pipe smoke much more than second hand cig smoke. So this wake area becomes the only spot on ship for cigar and pipe smokers.

Gary, excellent as always, detailed, low-key, informative. I’ve only been on four cruises and, oddly perhaps, they have all been on Seabourn’s smaller three ships. I do love raw fish so will likely try the new larger ones. The most recent cruise, last Fall, was to Alaska, and while the weather was consistently awful, their onboard adventure crew were simply excellent. Their WIFI is expensive and poor in terms of quality but I can live with that on a vacation. You might also mention that one can order caviar anytime - like with scrambled eggs for in-room dining -or at any dining venue at no additional charge. I’m actually slightly afraid to try another cruise line now.

Champagne and caviar 24/7. I've take my grandson (in his 20's) on three Seabourn cruises. There have always been others in the 20, early 30 age group for him to hang with. I've been on four of their cruises and have not run into anyone who could be describe as a snob. It is the only line that I will book on.

I have cruised on Royal twice and celebrity once. Both were nice. I was very unimpressed with celebrity. The second Royal cruise was better because I was in a suite with a dining table full bath deck etc. I had been to so many of then destinations in the Caribbean ( I'm an American who lives in the UK) that I had much of the pool area, which in January was exactly what I wanted. We did do two beach excursions which were fantastically relaxing. I just wanted to thank you for this channel. You put so much detail into the description and comparisons. I love the way you mention things for every interest. You've saved me hours of useless research, I'm just spending hours with you, which is much more pleasurable as you put so many personal tips. I agree with your partner with Cunard. I'm dying to do the QM with its old world elegance. My partner and I are celebrating our 25 in 2023, so we are looking for a second fantastic second honeymoon that will be the trip if a lifetime. If you happen to read this or to anyone who does, all suggestions are welcome. This ship in particular seems fantastic for luxury and entertainment. We've considered the new Ritz Carlton Yacht cruises. They seem wonderful, but I'm not sure I want to be so intimate with around 150 cruisers who are not friends and family, on the other hand it seems so luxurious and intimate. Again any suggestions for 2023. We are renewing our vows with grown children as attendants and the second honeymoon of a lifetime land or sea or both. Thank you again for your work with this. Love love love your channel!

Thank you, Gary. Seabourn is the only ship I’ll sail on. It is unfortunately overlooked by cruise vlogs. The crew is fabulous; they feel like my family. The food is delicious from the simple grilled Thomas Keller hotdog to perfectly prepared lamb chops. It’s a gorgeous, casual yacht-like ship that feels like home.

I just wish their itineraries weren’t so port intensive. To me relaxation isn’t being in a different port each day. (If it’s Tuesday it must be Belgium.) Just as cars are built to be driven, ships are meant to spend most of their time at sea. I want to sail in luxury - not be tied up at a pier.

I'm reminded of Viking Ocean when you describe this ship, there are a fair number of similarities. In particular like the square Viking have one central atrium in the ship with snacks, guest services, new bookings etc. The sushi restaurant is one I absolutely could not eat in so that's a black mark for Seabourn. I understand from other comments there are multiple places people can smoke including near the pool, that's another black mark. Personally I'd jump at going on a cruise line that bans smoking completely, it's disgusting having second hand smoke inflicted on you. But at least there is only one place on Viking Ocean people can smoke, and that's outside at the stern on the promenade deck.

If I could afford it, I would probably go with Seaborne. I'm not fond of crowded places and if I'm interested on going a shore I can explore the ship.

Hi Gary, first timer here, Ive been around the world, not cruising, the majority was whilst in the forces. Just a question about cruising I am unsure about:.. "Medical facilities". My wife is not to clever on her toes as she was, and has a varied daily tablet dosage to take, what do the cruise companys provide for passengers with health restrictions and possible problems, (We have a medical insurance policy). We have stopped going abroad for our holidays, (past 5 years), because of health care provisions in many of the countries we used to visit. This is mainly a "just incase" question.

As a pharmacist, I take my meds with me; I had a pre Covid sore throat on a trip and they charged me as if I didn’t have insurance. All the more reason to bring meds. I made a trip to Africa and needed the antibiotics I had with me. It is something to check out now that Covid is so prevalent.

I may have misunderstood when you were talking about a signature scent throughout the ship. Do you mean that there is no scent free space on the ship? I have a rather annoying sensitivity to scent and if they spray it everywhere, I couldn't possibly cruise on this line.

It is not everywhere, it is a scent developed that they use in toiletries available in suite etc

There are always going to be people who define themselves by their bank account or expensive wrist watch. By and large, most of the people I’ve met on Seabourn are well off but not showy, casual in an understated way, even shy on personal presentation. People typically in their mid-50’s and up. If a 35 year old gets on ship it destroys the mean age. Staff are very international and really bust their behinds to be of help.

Excellent ships & facilities, but an absolute disaster if you’re vegetarian. We did a 7 night Baltic Cruise with them. On the day of boarding, there was NOT ONE hot vegetarian dish available on the ship at lunchtime! My wife was told to use the salad bar. For the rest of the cruise, we could only us3 the main dining room, as you could only have one booking a the speciality dining room & the Japanese restaurant did absolutely NO veggie dishes at all. We couldn’t use the Buffet restaurant the whole cruise for the same reason. No Vegetarian dishes on offer - ever. I checked every night. So for us, never again! You pay the same price as everyone else, but get substandard treatment. If you eat meat, it’s great.
