I am advertising Paul Wallis’ book Escape From Eden because he was employed by the Anglican Church to teach Bible studies to students or young clergy until he began to question some of the Hebrew translations & narratives & apply another angle to much of the creation stories & descriptions of some of the wierder passages as you’re coving as I write. Thankyou for this work 😁❤️👍

This guy stretches it a long ways, such as minute 9:06 where it says, "Then God said , Let us make humans in our image". So there are other Gods he is setting with and they look the same as him? Over my lifetime I have read and heard so many of these people try to distort original thoughts and words to their own wants. Over thousands of years, we really can't trust any of the documents as they have been changed and unwanted parts thrown out thousands of times. Just be a good person and forget about all these so-called religious texts. After most people (many now called animists) went out of favor, the kings & leaders wanted mankind to think they were all gods and worship and keep them in power. Basically this thought of all the leaders being divinely chosen and inspired carried all the down the line and King James wanted to reframe his divinity in his subjects minds. His bible about 1510 was written trying to make all the people start believing he and his cronies were divine again. Within ten years he and his cronies were mainly exiled, overthrew or died. Shakespeare wrote "Romeo & Juliet" in about 1498. He would have written a more believable bible in all probability.

Elohim is plural because the story comes from a time when the hebrews were polytheistic, just like everyone else. To explain it away as the Royal we is anachronistic. One could ask: where is the evidence supporting the existence of the royal we at or prior to this account?

The elohim were the council of El, and they administered his will on Earth. But, they were essentially in charge here. When they all left, after many fearful years that it was yet another trick, some usurped their abandoned powers and filled the void. The old texts were recrafted and manicured to create a plausible yet unprovable narrative with which to control and manipulate the masses.

According to that translation, God didn't create heaven and the earth from the beginning. He was thinking that he was modifying it. But all the things happened to the earth were completely natural. Also, God doesn't need to separate light from the darkness. The rotation of the earth and the light of the sun make the Day and Night. It is not a separation because it is only a natural rotation. Perhaps, the poor God in the Bible didn't know that he didn't create or modify anything at all. It is like some ancient knowledge about the natural evolution of the earth. Some eastern ancient teachings (Theravada teachings) explain about natural formation of the observable universe too. Somewhat wrong Translations in the verse: 1.) The earth was not a 'Complete Chaos'. It was a formless wasteland. 2.) It was not a 'Wind'. It was 'Spirit' hovering. Just be truthful, and discover the truth. May natural nature bless you.!

If you are talking about all the misitakes and horrible actions of humanity that in fact has a very simple explanation God being a Loving God created human free with free will and that necesarely implys leting humans be capable of the most barbaric and cruel acts since the only alternative would be to make humans as willingless atumata and then humans would be no different than a simple stone.

Man, he got pretty alright except that some early believers saw the foreskin as ugly or something, so dictated that all men must have cosmetic surgery before they're even a week old. Lovely: causing the baby boys SO much pain before they ever get a chance to USE the equipment for anything. He done screwed up on women, though. That birth canal is absurd: Women should not have to risk death with each child delivered to life.

Genesis 2:7 "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." From that, first God formed the body of Adam, then he breathed the breath of life into it.

The lecturer repeats that God's presence is everywhere, not just in a Temple at Jerusalem. This claim contradicts certain statements in Scripture that had God saying that when the Temple is restored after the fall of Babylon, he will dwell in his house and among his people. So, the building of a House (Temple) is what assures the Jews God dwells among them. No House/Temple, No presence of God dwelling among his people. This necessity for God to have a House/Temple to dwell in is WHY the Babylonians destroyed the Temple of Solomon: to deny God a place to dwell in and be among his people. This is also WHY the Romans destroyed the Second Temple built by Zerubbabel in 518 BC, in 70 AD, to deny God a dwelling place, to be with his people, on the Earth. This is also why some Jews today understand the Temple MUST be rebuilt BEFORE God returns to dwell among his people.
