mmcleod06: btw - I should have mentioned that I am referring to an article Pastor McFadden wrote for the Issues' Etc. Journal a number of years ago. He was a Baptist for 60 years and a pastor for 40. Though he was high in the General Baptist's echelon, he became dissatisfied with the theology. This drove him back throughout the history of what he believed and ended up at the Lutheran Reformation. He is now a L.C.M.S. pastor in Fort Wayne, IN. Pax.

The Matthew 24:40 text is also supported in Matthew13:30 "Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." It does say that we will be “caught up” to meet the Lord in the air. And the word “rapture” is simply the Latin-based word for “caught up.” In other words, we Christians will be “raptured,” “caught up,” to meet Jesus in the air when he comes again. This is true. But it’s what the Rapture teachers tack onto that, and how they misunderstand it-that’s where they go wrong.

I think the main reason pretrib Believers don't hear or acknowledge points pertaining to post trib rapture is because you don't want to hear it. You're afraid and pretrib teaching comforts you. Let's say for instance you're right though. The pre-trib rapture is truth. What makes you think you won't be persecuted and possibly killed before the tribulation starts? Why are you more special than Christians in China and the Islamic countries who are experiencing persecution and death as we speak. I'm prepared for anything. If I'm wrong, great but what do you say to the martyrs over the past 2000 years when it comes to a pre trib rapture? Why weren't they saved from the hour of temptation?

@mal'ak emeth I think you kind of missed the point. I understand the tribulation hasn't started. But I don't think you understand you haven't been persecuted in the manner which I'm speaking. I'm talking about being tracked down, running for your life, narrowly escaping with your life. The way the people who I'm referring to have. You said you can give so much evidence and it says plain as day that we will be magically caught up before the death and persecution begins but you still haven't. You bring up John Darby but I didn't say anything about him. I'm speaking strictly from the word of God. Where does it say a rapture will occur, hell will break loose on Earth and then a matter of years later Christ will come back again? The only thing I read in the Bible is Christ's first coming and his second coming. Is it II Thessalonians chapter 2 you referring to? As I said, you should probably read that entire chapter and not take it out of context because there is absolutely nowhere in the Bible that says we're going to avoid this persecution. Are we going to avoid God's wrath? Yes. That's what you're referring to and just don't know it. That's the second coming. The end. When it's all said and done. The end of the story. Why would I be condemned to hell because I'm not clear on a scripture if I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that he died for my sins? I read the Bible and I don't believe in any way that you're going to hell because you believe in the rapture. He is not willing that any should perish. Correct? So maybe it's you who doesn't have an understanding of what the word actually says.

Love your videos so far.. been watching your videos for a few weeks now and really been compelling serious thought on a few things... I believe in Christ as my lord and savior ... I can’t remember if I was ever dipped, sprinkled or immersed in water in baptism but I believed that I was baptized with the holy spirit in the name of the father, son and the Holy Spirit sometime ago when I first started to follow Christ when I was around 16 or so. I have wrestled with a few doctrines that I have heard in the church i have been at since then and even in the Bible study that I have been committed to the past 5 years and have confidence that the holy spiritual leads me into all truth which brings me to want to thank you for your videos. I believe the Holy Spirit lead me to your videos. What I really appreciate about your videos is the amount of scripture you go to . You don’t go to your own ideas, philosophy or logic you just simply let the scripture speak and I love that. 2. This is exactly what I needed! Born and raised a Lutheran, like my family before me, but lately got confused with the whole ‘rapture’ doctrine, certain other denominations were spieling all of this so called pre-trib rapture, then turned around and mocked lutherans for not “believing in the rapture” While it’d be nice to go up in the clouds to be with the lord, and come back as a part of his army like certain baptists reckon, now I know that I’d much rather be on the ground, looking for the lord when he returns.

Into my 7th decade as a Lutheran Christian, I have done extensive reading, listening and investigations into both major theories. I find each theory credible when taken on their own merits. After much angst and prayer, the Spirit spoke to me assuring me THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER ENOUGH to divide Christians from each other. It is a doctrine of the adiaphora and I was shown to realize that A) I can't control what happens at The End, 2) Either scenario will happen in the blink of an eye, and d) I am saved under either doctrine. Yes indeed and just like Buzz on "Home Alone", those points satisfy my curiosity. That's the truth and if God's love, mercy and grace through faith does not cover the sin of one side being wrong, then we're all in trouble and I'd better get out my prayer beads and act so fearfully as to some of my Roman Catholic friends do. Praise God for His love and let's just all be surprised and happy as saints finally Home once it does occur. Amen.

The very first thing Jesus commands you to do is "TAKE HEED THAT NO MAN DECEIVE YOU. MANY will come in his name a nd DECEIVE MANY. Pre tribulation is not biblical.. it goes against many doctrines.. 2 gospels (one for Christian, one for Jews) saved by works.. don’t get mark of beast to get saved. 3 resurrections (rapture, jews, wicked) instead of 2 as mentioned in the bible ( for the just and unjust )

As I'm watching this, and reading through comments this verse stuck out to me. Mark: 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Why go back and forth on the pre tribulation or after when clearly it states we will not know. But instead of worrying also focus on this verse as well. Mathew 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect A majority to my life I was taught to believe in what many of us believe in the rapture. I have prayed for wisdom and I have prayed to be taken from deception. And these questions kept sprouting within that is never says what everyone has told me. I read relations and it never said what we think. Another verse below Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths And there is a verse also that I can't seem to find right now but it's says many many Christians will be decieved as a whole. Read your Bible, learn the word. Memorize the word. Ask God to give you wisdom and rebuke deception.

I think, in the days of Noha, those who were taken were taken for life and those who left behind were perished. In the same way, as written in Matthew, believers will be taken up and non believers will stay back. Thesolenuans tells the same - the living at that time will be taken up and will remain with the Lord. emanuel kournianos I have always attended a Baptist church before last year and am still pretty young, a freshman in college. I attend a non denominational church now that seems almost the exact same as my previous church. Not sure what I believe about the rapture and tribulation but like those verses said, all believers will be with God eternally on the last day. I think in the end it isn’t essential what you believe about the rapture, and is an open handed argument, obviously some denominations will be wrong in the end but it isn’t what determines salvation. What is important is that believers believe that Jesus Christ was sent to die for our sins and without Gods grace we can’t be saved.

I figured it in my sophomore year of Catholic high school that something didn’t feel right in my spirit about confessing to a man, priest or not, when Jesus told us the only one who can grant forgiveness was Him, Jesus Christ. If you read John 6:9-40 carefully, you'll see that Jesus speaks of two different events. Verse 39 is the last day for the church because the church age ends at the pretrib rapture. Verse 40 speaks of the last day of the tribulation! Two different days just as Jesus described in scripture! In Luke 17:22, Jesus tells us there are ‘days’ of the Son of Man. ‘Days’ is plural. There is more than one ‘day’ of the Son of man. Jesus says that we will ‘long to see ONE of them and will not see.’ Jesus gives different descriptions of these ‘days’ to two different groups of people. The first description of a Day of the Son of Man is given in Matthew 24:3-31, Mark 13:3-27 and Luke 21:5-28. In these verses, the DISCIPLES ask Jesus for the sign of His coming, and Jesus answers them with a list of signs which are included in the book of Revelation and comprise what is widely accepted as the Tribulation. Jesus ends each of these passages with a pictorial description of His second coming, that those on earth will watch Him arrive in the clouds with much power and glory. In Revelation 19:11-21, John gives us even more detail right down to describing Jesus’ eyes as He approaches earth. This coming of Christ to earth will be witnessed by everyone. It is the one by which people will know their redemption draws near. Luke 21:27-28. However, in Luke 17:20, the PHARISEES ask Jesus about the coming of God’s kingdom. Jesus tells them ‘the kingdom of God comes without observation’ (ocular evidence 3907). Kingdom is defined by the Greek as ‘royalty, rule or realm,’ (932). So, Jesus tells the Pharisees that the royalty of God comes without visible signs. Jesus is not talking about His millennial kingdom. He is saying the kingdom of God is Him, He is the royalty of God and will come without ocular evidence or visible signs. In verse 21, Jesus goes on to say, “nor will they say, Lo here, Lo there!” For behold the kingdom of God is in your midst (defined as inside or within 1787).” Here, Jesus states that no one will see Him ahead of time, no one will exclaim His coming, only that He will appear within His people. 1 John 3:2, that when we see Him, we shall be like Him. When Jesus appears to us in the clouds, we will be like Him. He will be within us in an unprecedented way. So, Jesus says one of His days has signs and one doesn’t. Since the second coming is preceded by all the signs of the tribulation, the rapture must be the day of the Son of Man which has no signs. Using these instructions from Jesus, it is pretty simple to separate the rapture scriptures from the second coming scriptures. For example: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 has no visible signs, Jesus just shows up and collects those who belong to Him, so it refers to the rapture. 2 Thessalonians 2 has the signs of the ‘falling away’ and the appearance of the man of sin, so it references the second coming. This same method, given by Jesus, applies to every end time scripture. This is the reason I know 1 John 3:2 references the rapture and not the second coming. It clearly states that when Jesus is revealed, we will be like Him, without listing any preceding signs. Please trust Jesus to deliver you as He promises. If you miss the rapture there is no escape from the tribulation. 1 Thess. 5:3.

I've been told I'm a fake Christian, that I'm not saved, that the Holy Spirit doesn't abide in me, that even martyrdom won't make me righteous in God's eyes and that I'm sinning by attempting to rob them of their blessed hope. None of that is true but the vehemence of their defense causes me to wonder if they harbor doubts or just aren't willing to suffer as Christians have suffered since Jesus was crucified. The rapture is a made up story that the Bible does NOT teach in any way. Our modern day prophecy pundits use a couple false premises along with scripture out of context to press down atop scripture and pull up and out what scripture fits their ideas since the dispensationalists like John Nelson Darby early 19th century. The Church as a whole for 15 centuries prior did not teach this false claim of the rapture. In fact if you start to untie the knots of lies and see scripture in its context you'll see theyve been either misinformed or flat out lying to the masses-that is the false teachers and all. The oft cited Pauline letter that reveals a mystery is a comforting from Paul to His early Church living among cults that would hunt them down and kill them for following Christ. So Paul tells them they will not all sleep-which is a euphemism for remain in death...but then they will be with God which is a constant theme...not only that but also that when Christ does appear again the dead will be raised and those found in Christ will be given a new body and this is the 'last day' as those who knew and loved Lazarus knew of the last day . you can find that in scripture too.

Good teaching and correct. 1st Thessalonians 4 “... for those who are LEFT till the coming of the Lord,…” Matt. 24:40 “ then shall two be in the field, the one shall be taken and the other left.” BE TAKEN: One to be led off as a prisoner, to take with one in order to carry away. LEFT: To leave so that what is left may remain, leave remaining. CONCLUSION: In the line above in Matthew 24:39, “...and they knew not until the flood came, and TOOK them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. “ In the same way the people were taken to their death in the flood, the Lord is explaining that those taken to death will be the ones taken to their deaths. During the flood only Noah and his family remained. And they started a new life on a new earth that was washed clean through the baptism of water. They also were in the ark. Jesus is our ark. Also in Matthew 24, the author doesn’t mention about the destruction of the wicked after the trumpet blast. We have to look at all scripture is not just one. The trumpet blast, the destruction of the wicked, then the harvest.

These were the dead in Christ who were raised first. Most preachers miss this. Matthew 27:52 “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many”. Going back to 1Thess. 4 1 Thess.4:17 then we who are LEFT STILL ALIVE will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord”. Many people think that these events happen almost simultaneously. But Paul is speaking about events that will happen. He does not distinguish a time frame between events. The dead in Christ has already happened. Here are many other scriptures PROVING that there will be no Pre-Trib or Mid-Trib Rapture. We will not be taken until the LAST DAY. Matt. 24 29 “But immediately following the trouble of those times, the sun will grow dark,
the moon will stop shining,[c]
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers in heaven will be shaken. 30 “THEN the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, all the tribes of the Land will mourn,[e] and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with tremendous power and glory.[f]31 He will send out his angels with a great shofar;[g] and they will gather together his chosen people from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other”. Psalm 21:8 8) Your hand will find all your enemies; your right hand will overtake those who hate you. 10 (9) AT YOUR APPEARING you will make them like a fiery furnace. Adonai will swallow them up in his anger; fire will consume them. 11 (10) You will destroy from the earth their descendants, rid humankind of their posterity; 12 (11) for they intended evil against you; but despite their scheme, they won’t succeed. 13 (12) For you will make them turn their back by aiming your bow at their faces. Rosh Hashanah (which is Sept. this year) or the feast of trumpets is actually called the feast of Tahruah. This word means a call to war. This is the trumpet sound that the angel from heaven will sound when Christ comes back. Many people think that when they hear the trumpet sound it is a sign that those who are in Christ will be raised up in the rapture. But actually, it is a trumpet sounding that Christ is coming back to war against those who are not His. Those who are His will be alive to see all this destruction. They will be alive to see tons of people being killed by fire. When Jesus is done destroying the stubble or chaff, THEN He will gather His wheat into His barn. This will be the rapture of the Church. This will happen on the Last Day. Psalm 91 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side,

I don't think many miss the part of those being raised with Christ at the resurrection as they went into the city. There is no mention of them being caught up with Christ or getting a new body. I agree Mat 24 is the 2nd coming of Christ after the tribulation which we know when it is, 1290 days after the Abomination of desolation midway through the tribulation. Everyone sees Christ coming in the clouds. Not so with the rapture, Christ is not seen by everyone and we know not the day or time.

The verses you're quoting were concerned with judgement. All fulfilled in 70 AD at the judgement of apostate Jerusalem. The "changing" or resurrection was covenantal language and symbolises the changing of the covenant, out of the Old and into the New Covenant, which was fulfilled in 70 AD with the passing away of the Old Covenant age and the birth of the New Covenant age of the church. The New Testament was written to a 1st century audience.

With Matthew 26:64, do you seriously believe Jesus is coming floating on a physical cloud in the sky? Or how about John 6 which speaks of "eating the flesh" of Jesus, although Roman Catholicism does take this literally in the Eucharist. There's symbolic language used throughout the Scriptures.

Ben Str please understand, I affirm that Christ is coming back, and we will be “caught up” to meet Him in the air. What I am saying, though, is there is no “PRE-Trib” rapture. The dispensational model of a secret, catching away, followed by a 7 year tribulation period is not biblical. In 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Paul is addressing the dead in Christ and their place when Christ comes back. The dead will not miss it, but in fact, will rise first when Christ comes back. There is a “rapture,” there is not a “Pre-trib rapture,” since there is no 7-year tribulation.

There is no pre-trib rapture. I used to believe in this false idea as well for many years but finally came to finally understand that part of scripture and revelation. There is a rapture that occurs but it's not pre- trib or Post- trib or mid- trib, it's right before God has His angels pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath and the seven plagues. Because we have NOT been saved from the wrath of the anti-christ nor the wrath of man.. but from the wrath of God. Not all of the tribulation in revelation is the wrath of God. Christians will die, be imprisoned and much more for their testimony and faith in Jesus Christ. Also if the pre- trib rapture was true there are many counties that persecute Christians, what do you think is going on in their minds? Do you suppose they are thinking they missed the pre- trib rapture and are not worthy of the Lord but subject to His wrath?? No because they understand the Scriptures.

When any preacher starts by telling you the rapture idea started in the 1800{s has been spoon fed a theology by a church or previous Bible teacher and they are not qualified to teach on the rapture. They are repeating a line and have not studied it out themselves. Jesus started the ball rolling Himself by a simple sentence "Before these things BEGIN, look UP your redemption draws near". Start by pondering this verse and letting the Holy Ghost expand it in your mind. Don't allow yourself to be misled by people either dismissing the rapture or disagreeing with Jesus that it is "when these things begin". Not after these things have started, or when they are done, but when they BEGIN.

It's kind of ironic. The whole Left Behind series was basically treated as Scripture almost by God only knows how many people on Earth? In that, they taught that Christians would not go through the final 7 year period, Daniel's 70th week which is still yet to come. Many people might consider that "tradition" of sorts. Someone with a private revelation or teaching or what have you outside of the Bible. In other words, it doesn't comply with what the New Testament says. It became so ingrained in Protestant churches that I very strongly suspect that even the best Protestant Bible teachers did not want to go against it, especially when their own church started teaching Pre-Tribulation rapture. Paul spoke of this more specifically that anyone else in the New Testament. 1 Thes 4:13-18 (more specifically 4:17); 2 Thes 2, and in 1 Corinthians 15:51,52. Must have been important as Paul mentions this event in at least three separate letters. Paul had to write about this a second time to the Thessalonians because people were getting "agitated and terrified" to use Paul's words in 2 Thes 2:2. The early church expected Christ to return at any time. As we know in 2021, that hasn't happened, yet. I will tell you now before I go any further. One of my concerns for Christians is that they must know that it is the Anti-Christ who will appear first. And Paul makes it clear he will be revealed when he sits in the temple of God claiming to be God. The temple is a rebuilt Jewish temple, obviously not built yet and the timing of this event is midway through the final 7 year tribulation period yet to come even now in 2021. Listen to Archbishop Vigano's message he put out today, November 22nd, 2021. I think the Christian world as well as the Catholic world is blessed to have this man as an Archbishop, former ambassador (so to speak) from the Vatican to the United States. To continue.... Jesus said that the tribulation period, Daniel's prophetic 70th week, the final 7 year period prior to Jesus' second coming, would be the worst time of all time - ever. So obviously this is very important to anyone claiming to be Christian. If not, you should find out quickly who it is that is discouraging you from studying this as it is apparent that time is very close. The new world order as they call it is essentially here or will be shortly. The current U.N. deadline is 2030, eight years away. Even Fauci talked about a 10 year goal regarding what has been going on since the beginning of 2020. He said this on C-SPAN in 2019. Wow, what a prophet! How did he know? I'm only saying these things to emphasize, things are getting close. When people use the term "rapture" they are speaking of what Paul wrote about in the three sets of verses above. There are other verses in the Bible but the most specific is 2 Thessalonians, Chapter 2. This chapter narrows down who is the man of lawlessness, at least for us very near this final 7 year tribulation period. Yes, prior to the 1,000 year reign of Christ after that time. You can that 1,000 year period, as much as there is written in the Bible about it, at the end of Revelation. Anyway, Paul taught that this event, which many call the rapture, now in the 21st century, would not happen until after there was "a mass apostacy" (St Jospeh's edition 1970) AND "the man of lawlessness" would be revealed (same edition). Verse 4 makes it clear that this man will sit in the temple of God claiming the he himself is God. Without getting into a lot more detail, that event does not happen until the middle of the final 7 year tribulation period. Two points. First this mass apostacy is on a world wide scale that we have never seen before and we can look back on 2,000 years roughly of history. And it is important to remember that this is during the time of the tribulation period that Jesus said would be the worst time of all time, to paraphrase. Second, the man of lawlessness is a specific man, the Anti-Christ, the one and only Anti-Christ spoken of in Revelation, Daniel and elsewhere. That is clear from verses 4, 8 and 9 together. In other words, these are end time, tribulation, final 7 year period events. By the way, being caught up to heaven isn't new. It's happened, according to the Bible, a number of times. Not many times. The prophet Elijah was translated I think was the word. He was caught up to heaven, even though alive. Enoch was another. And there are some others. By the way many think that Enoch and Elijah will be God's Two Witnesses during 3 1/2 years of the tribulation period. Revelation 11. Just thought I would add some detail. So the non believers are the ones taken to judgement, and the believers meet Christ in the clouds to be with him forever. I was taught the world would end in fire from one person, but also taught that God brings heaven to Earth. I guess it doesn’t really matter where Heaven is exactly, but I’m curious about the tribulation. Sometimes I get jumbled together what I have learned but isn’t there like 7 years after the rapture where non believers have a chance to repent but have to endure severe torment on earth, is this the judgement?
